Adult Center - December 2014
Happy Holidays! Thumb Butte Quilters present this holiday quilt exhibit to enhance your spirit over the next few weeks! Enjoy! And have a Merry!

The quilts now hanging in the Atrium of the Rowle P. Simmons Community Center are as follows, (standing at the Reception Desk, looking South out the front door, beginning with the first small quilt in the southwest corner, and going around the room clockwise):

(small quilt location—southwest corner):

Nancy Klein, quilt maker. “Christmas Trees.” Nancy got this quilt pieced and quilted before last Christmas, and therefore could let it out of the house this year!

(Large Quilts on the West Wall):

Kathleen Bond, quilt maker. “Christmas Wreaths.” Pieced in 2002 in Alamosa, Colorado. Machine quilted by Gwen McNallan in Prescott in 2009.

Sandy Mitchell, quilt maker. “My Christmas Quilt.” This was a Block-of-the-Month project offered by Odegaard's of Flagstaff. It consisted of using templates by Marti Michell and fabrics by Eleanor Burns. Machine pieced and machine quilted by Sandy.

Jan Gradle, quilt owner. “1600 Inch Jelly Roll Quilt.” A Jelly Roll consists of 40 different fabrics, 2.5” x 40”. Sewing them end to end = 1,600 inches. Then cut to the desired width and sew the strips together horizontally. This quilt was made for Jan by friends—pieced by Carol Taylor, quilted by Cathy Fuller.

(small quilt location—northwest corner):

Paula Pilcher, quilt maker. “Christmas Memories.” Another Christmas Houses quilt gets completed. Friendship group, The Young and The Restless, made and traded Christmas Houses, then each quilter had to finish her own quilt. Paula now has hers done!

(small quilt location—northeast corner):

Shirlee Smith, quilt maker. “Magic Christmas.” Shirlee started with a panel designed by Laurel Birch, cut it apart, added flying geese blocks and glitter to create a magical Christmas. Pieced and machine quilted by Shirlee.

(Large Quilts on the East Wall):

Lynn Beck, quilt maker. “Merry Irish Chain”. Machine pieced and machine quilted by Lynn.

Jane Holland, quilt maker. “Christmas Houses.” More Christmas Houses! Jane wanted her quilt to be larger, so she made more house blocks.

Chris Anders, quilt maker. “Frosty's in Town.” These snowman blocks were a 2007 Mountain Top Quilters Guild Swap-A-Block class taught by Arlene Stamper.

(small quilt location—southeast corner):

Paula Pilcher, quilt maker. “Christmas Tic Tac Toe.” Another quilt using this display as a deadline! Machine quilted by Kathleen Bond.
