Happy Spring! Thumb Butte Quilters have a “Spring Thing” going on. Can't you just smell the flowers in the air?! Here's hoping this collection of Spring quilts will make you want to go out and plant some flowers in your garden!

The quilts now hanging in the Atrium of the Rowle P. Simmons Community Center are as follows,

Tina McCowan, quilt maker. “Tina's Flower Garden”. This is a variation of “Pam's 9-Patch Garden” pattern. Hand embroidered and hand quilted by Tina, Spring 2003.

Jane Holland, quilt maker. “Megan's Magnificent Mish-Mash Quilt”. A bright and cheerful pieced and appliqued Sampler quilt, completed in April 2010. Pattern--“Piece, Love, and Applique” by Lizzie B Creative. Machine quilted by Cindy Phare.

Sandy Mitchell, quilt maker. “Stars in My Garden”. A “Piece O' Cake” pattern, hand appliqued by Sandy, machine quilted by Cindy Phare.

Barbara Merkel, quilt maker. “Winter in the Garden”. A pattern designed by Sheila Wintle. Hand appliqued by Barbara. Machine quilted by Gwen McNallen.

Kahty Beeson, quilt maker. “Kathy's Flower Garden”. This quilt is totally pieced and machine quilted by Kathy.

Tina McCowan, quilt maker. “My Best Friend, Bette”. The quilt top Sampler was pieced and appliqued by Bette Smith in a class at The Quilted Apple. She gave it to Tina who hand quilted it during the winter of 2006-2007.

Sandy Mitchell, quilt maker. “Way Beyond Baltimore”. Hand appliqued by Sandy, machine quilted by Cindy Phare. Viewer's Choice winner at TBQ Quilt Show 2013!

Carolyn Edwards, quilt owner. “She Liked to Quilt”. The first quilt made by Edith Marion Huber—a kit quilt from the 1960's. Carolyn “rescued” this quilt at a garage sale for $50.

Karla Morriston, quilt maker. “Rainbow Sherbert”. A pattern by Ricky Tims. Hand appliqued by Karla, hand quilted by TBQ Quilters at Sharlot Hall Museum.

Lynn Beck, quilt maker. “Summer Lemonade”. Machine pieced using yellow 30's reproduction fabrics, and machine quilted by Lynn during the Summer of 2009.
