“Have a Merry!“

For your viewing pleasure, we present a delightful collection of Christmas quilts! We hope these quilts bring joy to you right here in the Christmas City of Prescott!

The makers of the quilts now hanging in the Atrium of the Prescott Community Center are as follows (standing at the Reception Desk, looking South out the front door, beginning with the first small quilt in the southwest corner, and going around the room clockwise):

(small quilt location--southwest corner)

Arlene Franz, quilt maker. “Merry Christmas to All”. Hand appliquéd and machine pieced. Machine quilted by Cindy Phare. Pattern by Pat Bruce for Daisy and Dell.

(Large Quilts on the West Wall):

B. Johnson, quilt maker. “First Christmas”. Machine pieced and machine quilted. This was B’s first quilt!

Marti Harbour, quilt owner. “Christmas Sampler”. This is a group quilt, with blocks made by the Popo Agie Quilt Club Members. The quilt top was assembled by Marti, and it was machine quilted by Linda Johnstone at The Quilting Bee in Lander, Wyoming.

Joan Carrell, quilt maker. “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”. This Christmas kit included the darling Santa panel. Don’t you hope this Santa comes to your house! Pieced and machine quilted by Joan.

(small quilt location--northwest corner)

Kathy Barrett, quilt maker. “Double Dutch Christmas Tulip Chain”. This quilt was started by Kathy in a class at The Quilted Apple in Phoenix. It was machine quilted by Dawn Valanas-Moser.

(small quilt location--northeast corner)

Kay Harlan, quilt maker. “My Christmas Angel”. The background and angel are pieced log cabin blocks. Machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and machine quilted.

(Large Quilts on the East Wall):

Carol Miller, quilt maker. “Mountain Top Christmas”. Blocks were designed by Mary Andra Holmes in memory of Laurene Sinema of The Quilted Apple. This was a “Block of the Month” project in Mountain Top Quilters guild in 2004. Hand appliquéd by Carol. Machine quilted by Maggie Keller.

Carolyn Edwards, quilt maker. “My Coxcomb”. Not necessarily a Christmas quilt...but they are definitely Christmas colors! Hand appliqued by Carolyn. Machine quilted by Maggie Keller and Mickey DePlanche.

Joan Carrell, quilt maker. “Plenty of Poinsettias”. Joan teaches this fan class at Quilt N Sew Connection. Pieced by Joan, machine quilted by Renee Mirazo.

(small quilt location--southeast corner)

Vera Flores, quilt maker. “Christmas Time”. Hand redwork embroidery. Hand and machine quilted.
