65 Roses (contest winner!)

For a T-Shirt contest for a Cystic Fibrosis walk to raise money for CF research. My art will be featured on the front of the shirt! I am very honored to be able to contribute somehow. I wish I could do more. This is for you Eva! I still take breaths for you. Thank you for teaching me to be strong.

Eva's story:

Her blog:

All those who loved her have to carry on her work for her, because she is no longer with us to do it.

Some facts about CF:

-The name, cystic fibrosis of the pancreas, was first

applied to the disease in 1938.

-Children who couldn't pronounce Cystic Fibrosis called the disease 65 Roses

-While several decades ago most children with Cystic Fibrosis died by age 2, today about half of all people with Cystic Fibrosis live past age 31.

-Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease, meaning it is caused

by a defect in the person's genes.

- There are over 500 known defects in the CFTR gene that can cause Cystic Fibrosis. However, 70% of all people with a defective CFTR gene have the same defect, known as delta-F508.
