Vintage Slides from early 1900s

Educational glass slides from Conrad Slide and Projection Co., sold by Central Scientific Co., Chicago

From what I could discover, glass slides, like these, were used within an educational environment during the late 1800s-early 1900s. I am guessing that these particular slides are early c1900s because that is when Central Scientific went into business.

I wish the images were better because these are super beautiful...especially if you hold them up against a window, or if you hold them away from the wall by and inch or two.

I am not sure what I will do with them in the long run - they need to be incorporated into a piece of artwork for sure! Right now, I plan on attaching them to matting and metal frame them....eventually they will end up with vintage paper behind them, feathers, things like that....I want to get them into frames so they do not accidently get broken in my art room....

Refer to this sets' main page for terms of use. Please inform me if you discover that this image is not in public domain.

Enjoy - and hope that you can use the image somehow....
