Fell lucky for this one - climbing a slope when I saw this Heron,ardea cinerea,in a Yew Tree . I was at the same level as the Heron which was lit by a shaft of bright sun shining through the trees .

The lead Zumba dancer from the "Big Dance" festival. She was absolutely mesmerising! Almost made me want to dance and believe me that's saying something! :).
I was really lucky to get her eyes in focus with this depth of field, especially since she was so energetic. Most of the shots I took of her were out of focus but glad this one made it. I may post another one of her tomorrow. I made it selective colour because there was so much colour in the background fighting for attention but I find this technique very hit and miss.

Tenemos una sola palabra para designar dos actitudes opuestas: una, la que celebra el orden existente y defiende la quietud, la que festeja y confirma que el mundo está bien así como está y lo aprueba.
Otra, la risa rabiosa, furibunda, desatada, atrevida, la que sabe que todo, absolutamente todo alguna vez morirá, que el mundo está en movimiento y que, por ende, ningún poder será eterno, ningún poder será inmortal.
"Zumba la Risa" es la primera parte de un espectáculo en construcción. En él vamos tras la huella de la risa perdida.
No tenemos una respuesta acabada, pero sí algunas hipótesis de por qué desapareció.
Creemos que estamos en camino de hallarla, porque ella es parte de la memoria colectiva.
Alguna vez la encontraremos, porque la verdadera risa vive en cierto lugar de nuestro recuerdo.
Para eso hacemos este espectáculo: para buscarla juntos.

Was asked last week to shoot a Zumba event at the local YMCA. 14 instructors and about 3 hours of non-stop, dark room/fast moving subjects to shoot. Lots of opportunities for interesting "poses" while dancing, just need lots of patience to catch the shots. Out of about 700 shots, these are some of the better ones. This outing continued to help me develop as this is not my normal subject or techniques. Seems a bit better than my shots last year, so hopefully I'm applying learning to new shots.
Special thanks to RJW for lending me a second body to use and his 17-55. Both came in handy...
Not a Meisterwerk, but different. Intention was to capture the movement and ensure that people cannot be identified.
