This is it, the last yellow shot (explore #229)

For macro Monday's theme. "My favourite colour" The rules stated that the image has to be one colour and one colour only. I love the warm and happy vibration that yellow exudes and I am a sun worshipper too. So yellow figures very high on my list of favourite colours but I like all colours, it all depends on what context I see them in. A beautiful red sunset, a crisp deep blue sky, a deep green carpet of green foliage, even pristine white snow and I have lots of that as you know are all beautiful to me.

HMM

At the Port Of Brisbane there are some fantastic Cotton Trees(Hibiscus tiliaceus). They flower often but if you catch the right time of year, they are covered in large yellow flowers.

The colour is great but if you look closely, the texture is amazing.

Yellow flowers at the Rockefeller Greenhouse, 2006. 60 macro lens, natural light. Used a variation of Dean's "reduce noise" technique to soften the image. OOPS: this was really with the 200 macro!

Dorset 13.04.2014

It's a long time since my last update. My son had a long spring holiday and I have had some health issues to tackle.

This butterfly, yellow tip, has only one generation a year and can be found only in spring time.

Just living is not enough... One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.

Yellow Chrysanthemum - Hubby came home with some lovely flowers for me this evening :-) so just had to take a photo or two ;-) I used the flash but covered it up with tissue paper to get a softer light and with manual settings to get the speed and depth of field that I wanted :-) quite pleased with the final results :-)

More textured photos. I actually saw some flowers for once yay! yellow, purple, and pink flowers are my favorite. in that order lol Image looks better larger

Wasatch Mountains, Utah, USA

1410-4-0243 [3:2]

I visited this area as a young boy, long ago. I come back frequently to the area, and somehow kept forgetting to stop here. Thanks to a recent post by fellow photographer, Christian Peay, it reminded me of a treasure hidden in the Wasatch Mountains. So I jumped in the Jeep with my son, prepped for a journey to the pre-destined location. Upon arrival, I packed my gear, and hiked up to this spot with master photographers Dustin LeFevre, Peter Irwindale, Emily Dickey.

The hike was grueling, well at least for me, since I am an older, overweight guy. Upon reaching the lake, I knew I only had single-digit minutes to setup and capture what I wanted. I extended the tripod legs, affixed the camera, and snapped this multiple-exposure shot. The wind created an insatiable glow. And just two minutes later the sun began receding from view.

And sometimes, its best to leave Ingrid to find the quotes to accompany a photograph.

We've got some Yellow Day Lillies in the garden. The sun has been out and the flowers are looking quite spectacular.

So it was out with the camera and macro extension tubes.....

Taken with the canon MPE65 macro lens at x5 magnification, these are small bubbles formed from blowing bubbles in some soapy liquid with food colouring. To get a sense of scale, the very large bubble in the lower left (only seeing portion of it) is approx 2-3 mm across.

Another angle of same flower and same hour and same day...

Look at the stars,

Look how they shine for you,

And everything you do,

Yeah they were all yellow,

I came along

I wrote a song for you

And all the things you do

And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn

Oh all the things I've done

And it was all yellow

Your skin

Oh yeah your skin and bones

Turn into something beautiful

D'you know you know I love you so

You know I love you so

I swam across

I jumped across for you

Oh all the things you do

Cause you were all yellow

I drew a line

I drew a line for you

Oh what a thing to do

And it was all yellow

Your skin

Oh yeah your skin and bones

Turn into something beautiful

D'you know for you i bleed myself dry

For you i bleed myself dry

Its true look how they shine for you

look how they shine for you

look how they shine for you

look how they shine for you

look how they shine for you

look how they shine

look at the stars look how they shine for you

Northern Colorado has more snow this morning. It has been a very cold and snowy month - I thought I needed a little bit of Yellow Sunshine from last summer to brighten the day!!!

Happy Hump Day!!!!

Pc still broken , one week so far , I don't like sharing a pc when I can't put my own features in , hopefully sometime next week (maybe).

Yellow tips in the white lily .

I think that this is Meadow Arnica, a pretty common Colorado wildflower.

I like the effect of using a 1,000mm set up and a sea of yellow in the bokeh behind the main subject flower.

This is the first year that I have planted calla lilies in my Lake Tahoe garden, so I am hoping they will survive the coming winter and bloom next summer. I could not resist the gorgeous yellow color and green veins!
