This bud of the wildflower just wants to be opened as it rises up to bloom..Into a full fledged flower
Wildflowers on Gothic Mountain in the Gunnison National Forest. Snow lingering on the mountain. Arrived a week before the official start of the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival.
As always, thanks so much for taking a look.

Very little grows on jagged rock.
Be ground.
Be crumbled.
So wildflowers will come up where you are.
You've been stony for so many years.
Try something different.
Surrender.

These little (really tiny) flowers are growing amongst my Kangaroo Paw flowers. I am not sure it they are a part of the Kangaroo Paw or something else that has blown in and started growing. They are only tiny - maybe not even a centimetre across. The last photo is the Kangaroo Paw growing in my front garden and as you can see it is a different colour to those that I have already posted. Thank you Elizabeth for your ID - I am pretty certain it is a Dianella caerulea Breeze.

I have been out shooting the last 3 days solid....Lots of new images to post...I had not even planned on shooting the wildflowers this year based on what I had heard...I will admit this is a weak year for them....I have images from back in 2006 or 07 where the flowers are really dense....this year they are very sparse and it was hard to find a decent grouping of lupine....I like the lupine better than the balsamroot... As I approached the exit for the waterfall I wanted to shoot I could see some clouds forming in the east so I took a chance and ran up to Rowena to see what it was like for myself... The clouds were good and I also had the good fortune to hang out with 2 deer in the meadow next to me....they were totally cool....I have more waterfalls to shoot tomorrow, Friday, then I am off to central Oregon for the weekend.....Hope you are all having a great week and enjoying the nice weather we are having...

Aperture f/7.1
Focal Length 17 mm

Double Processed Image, Once for the foreground and once for the sky. Even though I used a 2 stop soft grad there was not enough to hold back all the parts of the sky....I added a Gaussian blur and blended it with soft light at 50% to get the glow you see here.
Add some rain to the warm summer days in the high alpine of SW Colorado and the wildflowers quickly blow up into a beautiful symphony of color.
That is exactly what happened here in the San Juan Mountains. It's beautiful up there with most areas peaked!
If anything, we are getting too much rain which can make hiking pretty dangerous especially in the afternoon.
Hope you are all getting a chance to get out to your favorite spot to enjoy this epic time of year!
Thanks for viewing my site and for sharing yours!!
You belong among the wildflowers
You belong somewhere close to me
Far away from your trouble and worries
You belong somewhere you feel free.
One of my fave Tom Petty songs. Tom Petty just happens to be playing right now in Hyde Park London. My son Matt and his friend are there. I'm not jealous one bit. I'm lying, I am jealous especially as Stevie Nicks is supporting him!
Here's the song.

let her dream, for she's a child
let the rain fall down upon her
She's a free and gentle flower,
growing wild"

My photo of - not a wildflower, a lobelia - it represents the feeling ...
This has been picniked and Photoshopped.
Scavenge Challenge July - favourite things. Activity -walking and picking wildflowers. In Sweden you are allowed to pick flowers anywhere in the countryside, but not endangered flowers.

Smile on Saturday!:) Wild Flowers
I would have liked to have posted a Florida native, but I'm under the weather so am using this little wildflower vine. I found it in Sebring (my previous home) while walking along the sidewalk in the historic downtown. I pulled it up and moved it to my house. And it has thrived and even found it's way into planters which I moved here. So it's here in Orlando now too. Probably not the smartest thing I've ever done gardening wise ... but it's not horribly aggressive and is easy to handle.
I don't know it's name either. Sorry ... but it's a pretty little vine and it's hearty in the heat.
Smile on Saturday: wildflowers!
The tiny wild flowers were growing near the edge of my vegetable garden. The mature blossoms are no larger than a dime.
Sometimes I will let some wildflowers to bloom, these always look beautiful ant tall.
Pleas listen to the music bellow, an old tune.
Sorting some photos, I came across this small colorful wildflower. I remember that it was low near the ground, seen on one of my lunch time walks about 2 weeks ago. Aug 16, 2010 L1120847.dng
We spotted these beautiful wildflowers, Texas Bluebonnet and Indian Paintbrush flowers, on the side of the highway during our recent road trip.
