口笛小枝輝く晴れやかトランク,

rapturous breeze solitude hollows voice,
広大な圧倒的な波がシフトプルームの噴出,
golden music flowers delicious enchantment calls,

Wilderness in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just outside of Franchoek, in the Western Cape of South Africa.
This entire area is reclaimed wilderness. In many places, the foundations of the old homes are still noticeable.

Questa selvaggia e solitaria valle delle Alpi Graie forse non ha neppure un nome (o se lo ha non mi è noto) e non è percorsa da nessun sentiero: per risalirla solo il corso del torrente incassato fra rocce gigantesche e frequentemente interrotto da salti e cascate che vanno aggirate oppure scalate. Tutt'intorno antiche foreste palpitanti di vita ed al di sopra uno squarcio di cielo quasi sempre percorso da impetuose cavalcate di nuvole spinte dai perenni venti occidentali e che a volte si addensano minacciose quasi dovessero annunciare la caduta del cielo per poi altrettanto rapidamente dissolversi lasciando un cielo terso e più blu del lapislazzulo. Vi si arriva percorrendo una valle secondaria di un'altra valle secondaria ed infine una strada sterrata che si perde poi nel nulla, nel bosco. Attraversare il bosco è come attraversare il tempo: ci si trova immersi nella natura come doveva essere secoli or sono, nessuna presenza umana, nessun segnale (non prendono nè radio nè cellulari). A lungo ho vagato quassù fra i 1600 e i 2000 m di altezza, piantando anche la tenda vicino a qualche laghetto per un paio di notti, però senza mai riuscire a vederne la fine: vuoi perchè distratto dall'esplorare un tratto di bosco, vuoi perchè impigrito dall'oziare al sole dopo una nuotata in uno dei molti laghetti sotto alle cascate, vuoi perchè "perso" a fotografare, a leggere...o solo a sognare.
Forse anche perchè non voglio arrivare fino alla fine, non voglio che "finisca".
Pensando che da ora in poi più o meno tutti (me compreso) ci sbatteremo in giro per kilometri e caldo per cercare "riposo" in più o meno lontani "paradisi" dedico volentieri questo scorcio della "mia valle segreta" a tutti gli amici di flickr (che vadano o no in vacanza).
Ah! Dimenticavo: per arrivare qui ci vuole al massimo un'ora e mezza (andando inevitabilmente piano viste le stade che occorre percorrere) a partire da casa mia, non lontana dal centro di Torino......il paradiso non è poi così lontano, a volte!

This is not mu usual stuff. I ususally look more for other type of aesthetic appeal for my work. Nevertheless, the other day I was just taking a walk through what I would call true South Florida wilderness in the Everglades and it was sunset time. As I walked in different directions I noticed the dead branch in this FG and the on it somehow appealed to me. It may even not appe4al to anyone as anythng containing beauty, but the light was appealing and the mood I perceived in the entire scene made me set up and shoot a few times. It may not work at all, but for some reason, I just wanted to process it.
I used 2 images for this, one for the FG and one for the BG. Also I used TK's masks and NIK Filters.
