Another week of more snow and ice with no new photos to show for it all. So, back I go to that pool of flowers captured back in early January.
A white Mum center captured with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens. Edited on the iPad in App Snapseed.
This tighter crop was suggested by a viewer. The original is in my Orchid set.
Both made it on EXPLORE. This one on August 1. Thanks!

Macro Mondays: Poisonous theme
Oleander is one of the most poisonous commonly grown garden plants.
Oleander contains several toxic elements, including cardiac glycosides, saponins, digitoxigenin, oleandrin, oleondroside, nerioside and other unknown toxins. These poisons are found in all parts of the oleander plant and are toxic whether the plant parts are dried or green. Ingestion of any part of the oleander plant can lead to serious illness and possibly death.
Our yard is surrounded by very tall white oleander hedges which are currently in bloom. They are quite beautiful.
This image is from our Central Florida trip last week. I'm posting the trip page for next year even though I haven't finalized the dates for 2016: www.studebakerstudio.com/centralflorida

Our white tulip
poem by SilentPleasure.
I hope you find yourself
though you may not be searching right now
I hope you feel well in your freedom
and it prospers over your wildest dreams
I hope someday you feel secure enough
to open up more and see the Truth that always was, is and will be
I hope you are brave enough
to someday see that life isn't about giving up
and not letting it just pass you through
I hope we are lucky enough
to someday both find our white tulip
"The Hypsizygus tessellatus or shimeji is an edible mushroom native to East Asia. Buna shimeji is cultivated locally in Europe, North America and Australia and sold fresh in markets." Taken from Wikipedia.
I think I'm right in saying that these are Bunapi shimeji. At least two years ago, I noticed a small container of these at Safeway, my grocery store, but felt they were too expensive to buy, just to photograph. Then four days ago, I noticed that Safeway had finally got another package of them lying on the shelf amongst all the more usual mushrooms. Not expensive at all, so here they are, lol! Apologies to the first three people who commented on this image - they may have thought I'd walked for hours in some dark forest to find these! Needless to say, this is a macro photo. And, no, I won't be eating them : )

... I tell you the white hydrangeas turn rust and go soon ... Carl Sandburg
Dragoons, I tell you the white hydrangeas turn rust and go soon.
Already mid September a line of brown runs over them.
One sunset after another tracks the faces, the petals.
Waiting, they look over the fence for what way they go. Carl Sandburg 1878 - 1967
Another from my White Pelican series taken last Monday..
Wishing you all a lovely and enjoyable Sunday!
A few more tidbits on the White Peli. Their wings can span up to 8-9 feet and their pouches can hold up to three gallons of water. They lay up to 2 to 3 whitish eggs and the strongest chic usually manages to kill off its siblings. Sad but true!

Explore #376 I was out hunting in my garden yesterday afternoon looking for victims ...lol opps I mean subjects to photograph..I had DeCanine search and sniffem team by my side helping work through the plants and flowers to find the best subject.
I picked one of those delicate little fluffy ball things (you know the ones you blow and they fly everywhere) to take a macro shot of, I call them Father Christmas, but I cannot remember their name. I walked into the study and remembered the fan was on and woosh....they all blew away...lol
This crocus is from my second search mission :) And I thought it would look good all white... I hope you like it ;)
Well Wednesday today....wowie...7 working days til my holiday ;) lol
I hope that your Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday are treating you well and you have the time to take a photo today....a day without photos is a day without vision ;) For me it is sort of like this quote I read yesterday, and I cracked up....cause it is true :)
“I have an underwater camera just in case I crash my car into a river, and at the last minute I see a photo opportunity of a fish that I have never seen.”
:) Have a great one,,,,,,and don't forget the camera :) Car
