I tried taking a photo of this feather on a white background but the feather just disappeared. There must be a way! I'll keep working on it. So then I put the feather on black and voila!

I used spot metering on the white of the convolvulus flower which is why the sky is an unreal blue - plus some editing and cropping in Lightroom.
I built my house from barley rice
Green pepper walls and water ice
Tables of paper wood, windows of light
And everything emptying into white....

I really like the way the sun was playing on this lily...one day we had sun...off and on ... between rains!
Last of the orchid series. Cropped from a much larger exposure to feature the star of the show, the pure white, natural light that backlit these lovely orchids. I could almost (and did almost) crop the flowers completely out, but they really do add to this statement about the purity of that beautiful light. Have a great weekend!
