So I've had a pretty perfect day, the weather was amazing and yeah everything was so good. This was such a fun shoot, I feel like I can create pretty much anything I can when it comes to editing now, and that's what I love the most about photography, not having any limits.
Well i'm gonna keep this short because I'm going out in like half an hour and I'm still soaking wet from shooting this, have a good weekend everyone!
kinda looks like
crystal hot air balloon landing on a crystal mesa ..........
this is the first of many to come - I finally got the settings perfect on my camera to do the type of water captures I want to. wooot.
The water capture is mine, taken at Longwood and blended in with this Versailles fountain which didn't have any water; I used, as part of the background, a fiber optic light long exposure (which I often use in my work); there is some digital painting as well. The rest of the images I used:

I am grateful to be able to find images that enable me to express my vision. See the details in large. I really think you'll like it on black: View On Black

This image combines some of my favourite things, and thus shows you a lot about me. It is art that comes not from planning or conceptualizing, but from a deep unspoken place in the heart. I wish I could have chosen a better title, but I just didn't have the words.
Fairies in my artwork are symbolic rather than literal; "magical" is used as a poetic simile. Sometimes I laugh at myself, because it may seem that I really haven't "grown up"! I do love children, and sometimes I make art for them, or about them. But this is not that at all. It doesn't even come from my "inner child". It just represents the spirit to me, and so this would show you how I see myself. We think of spiritual things as "magical" because they're mostly invisible to us, and we can't see how they work. We call it "supernatural" because to us the physical world is what we are used to.
It bothers me that so much "spiritual" art is dark and demonic. There is so little beauty and truth to be found in most "spiritual" art~ it saddens me. And then, it seems, that Christians, who are supposed to be "born of the Spirit" and should be most comfortable with spiritual things, are mostly afraid of them and express only the things about God and their own existence that fit in their mind with the natural realm. Everything else is relegated to "heaven" and the "life hereafter". And yet, if you will study the Bible, you will see that heaven is within us, and we are within heaven. The departure comes with New Age type beliefs that we can have true spirit-life and heaven without submission to the God of heaven. This leads people to deception, even if it is "beautiful".
"Fantasy art" is art that people use to describe their inner existence ~ where we exist on the inside is either truth or lies, heaven or hell. We are eternal spirits who have physical bodies. In the physical realm, I cannot dance like a ballerina, neither can I fly with wings. But in the spirit I can. [I want to add here part of a comment on this from Tellyazz : "One of the challenges we face is merging the spiritual with the physical, the intangible with the tangible as Christ did." I completely agree.]
A garden to me represents a place where beautiful things grow, and it is tended by a gardener who puts things in order. My inner garden is a collaborative effort between me and God. It is a place of rest and refreshment as well as hard work. Fountains are a beautiful addition to any garden, but in my garden, the water comes from an eternal living spring, not a mechanical device that cycles old water over and over. Notice how this image relates to the concept of "hedged" in the Psalm below.
As I have depicted in this artwork, I can worship God even when I am lonely because He is always with me, and in the dark because I am no longer afraid of the dark. He gives us guidance and light even there. My inner place of giving worship to God is where I find the strength to fly.
O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me,"
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Psalm 139:1-12
In the light falling rain while Mrs. Krach was exploring the stores, I was exploring the pretty little town of Estes Park just outside Rocky Mountain National Park.
Liked this view with the river flowing through the town and shops ... made for a lovely setting.
The place we stayed at here was also along this river couple miles away from town ... and our cabin was right along the river. Slept very well that night with the window open listening to the running water.
Captured here hand held at 1/13th second.
HFF as well :))
During last week's sunrise-bike ride to Navy Pier I noticed that Lake Michigan was calmer than usual, making for a rare opportunity to photograph the skyline reflected in the water. Capturing it, however, was easier said than done as I had to go down to the area located specifically for docking ships to set up my tripod. Still, not far enough away to remove the pier from the site of my camera, I leaned the tripod towards the water risking that a even the slightest breeze would inevitably push not just me but also my precious camera into the cold sea.
In the end, it was all worth it for this shot.

Reflections on water captured with a slow shutter create a more abstract look than my other water image.
View On Black looks best this way...
Was taking more water captures this morning...thought a few of them were kind of cool...this is one of them...I am sure that it will one day get incorporated with something else that I take...
