Paris hotel in Las Vegas. We spent a couple of days in Vegas at the end of our trip after all the hiking in the National Parks.
Having lunch on the outside patio at Olives Cafe in the Belagio we watched the fountains. Our hotel (The Paris) is in the background to the left and Planet Hollywood to the right.

So this is my first band promo that I've done so far, and I think that I did an ok job, but I would really love to get some feeback on how this came out! :] I got a great opportunity to be able to shoot Vega Under Fire when they came down to Okeechobee FL!
Not only was it awesome that I got to a shoot a really great band, but they also dressed up as the Wizard of Oz as you can see! I was so stoked when they told me that's how they were going to dress, and I couldn't wait to do the shoot!
But I'm really liking how this shot came out, and I would love to get some comments and criticism! I hope everyone's digging it, and def go give Vega Under Fire a listen!

Enjoy an aerial view of the Las Vegas Strip at night.
Note: I collaborate with helicopter pilots to perform my aerial photography over different cities. We remove the door on the passenger side, and I "hang out" even though I'm safely harnessed. I'm not in the drone business yet, even though I've been informed many times that drones are now "en vogue" for aerials, which is fine and may work for many people. The fact that drones are so trendy, even without having an official license to operate them, is part of the reason I prefer to work with pilots and completely own both the professional and personal experience of hovering above magnificent cities with my camera.

Moving walkways are a requirement in las Vegas. If you've never visited bring comfortable shoes. You walk a lot. This photo is an experiment keeping the shutter open while resting my Holga on the handrail. Building on the motion study work I've been doing.
A more refined, full res version without all the digital grain will be published in the January issue of Lightleaks Magazine.
Tomorrow morning, Oct 1, marks the first anniversary of the horrific shooting in Vegas, where 58 people lost their lives, and the lives of many others were changed forever. This cell phone photo is the view from the Mandalay Bay hotel of the area where the concert, and shooting took place. I'd hesitated to post it before, but do so now as a mark of respect for those killed and injured, a mark of thanks to the first responders and other who came to the rescue at great risk to themselves, and in appreciation of the unifying spirit that this horrible event ignited in the Vegas community. #vegasstrong
Paris Las Vegas, the restaurant near this balloon has waiters who speak with phony French accents, but don't speak a word of the language.
Looking along Las Vegas Boulevard from an elevated pedestrian walkway, The Strip is a lively and colourful place pulsing with light and movement.

Where else in the world would you find a pyramid in the desert with a light beam shooting up into the night sky?
Well it would only be Las Vegas. This is the top of the Luxor.
Before I went to Vegas I had this shot in my mind and wanted to capture it. It was difficult to get because the light is so dam bright. I used two different exposures to get the image one for the light and one for the pyramid and i think that it was come out well.
Excalibur - Las Vegas, Nevada.
One of my favorite buildings on the strip as it seems the most magical.

Sorry I have disappeared off of flickr for most of the week. I have been busy doing a ton of computer work. The company I shoot for needed me to work on a bunch of boring crap that I didn't really feel like posting. Photos of Houston, Tulsa, Albuquerque, and Vegas. I thought these two were fairly interesting, so I figured I would post a couple of the Vegas shots.

So we hired a car in Vegas, and off we went to Best Buy to get my new lens and whipped in the zip code for the store on the Sat Nav... and lo and behold, "Hertz NeverLost" took us to the middle of nowhere, and announced "you have arrived at your destination"!
Needless to say we had to go there again, AFTER I got my lens :-)
