Donald Rendler-Kaplan

Skokie Farmers Market

This is my Uncle Don's pick up truck. On the tailgate a friend painted my great-grandparents homestead. It is so cool. The truck interior is from a Ranger.

My Uncle Don passed away yesterday. I haven't seen him much in the last few years but I can see him in my mind clear as day. He was a bright and energetic man, so vivid and full of life. He was also an extremely tall man, at least 6' 6" if not more. He seemed much taller when I was 6 and he and his wife Irene would come around at holidays. He loved computers and gadgets of all kinds (his Christmas gifts were always the coolest!). He always seemed to have the best of the best in stereo gear. When my dad got into computers, Uncle Don was one of the guys who could fix his computer whenever it went astray.

Sadly, I wasn't able to see or talk to him recently to tell him how much he meant to me. He was a great man whom I'll miss very much.

Another of my Uncle Don's babies. This one has our family homestead painted on the back. Can you guess the year?

I really have no idea when this photo was taken. I found it in a desk at my mom's house. The short man is my Uncle Don. The tall man is Don Johnson. He was admin of the moose.
