I hadn't noticed the repeating patterns and lines here before, though I drive by on a regular basis. Looking up, it caught my attention. Black and white processing brought the focus onto the patterns.

I was buying tofu at the nearby market... looking inward at this woman's stall; a nap making her look like a swan.

What is "kusa" in English? I wondered. So I asked him. "It's doing something kind without being told", he answered. (He doesn't know I'm typing this) I googled, and the closest translation was "initiative". He took the initiative to get me some rice, without my having to ask. It was a deliberate act of kindness, which I 'accidentally' saw.

I loved seeing the insides and outsides of these tasty treats.

This is my CT beach. I commute into NYC for work, but enjoy this on weekends and at night. I used to live in NYC full-time (since '81) but love having both in my life today. If I had to pick one.....
Taking the escalator up. In the old days, after WOII, many people used this escalator for commuting. I saw photos with two rows of people on one escalator going up, with their bikes. All four escalators were in use back then. Nowadays there aren't that many people that use the tunnel and we aren't that couragous anymore. Some people find these escalators scary and take the elevator. Hey, do you know that my bike is as old as the tunnel? :-D #twotakes @ Fietstunnel Maastunnel Noordzijde
