If you refer to the write-up on my previous upload of Seattle, the same process is true here. I actually captured this the day before I went to Seattle, but processed this one second. My main goal was to make Tacoma, Washington look as attractive as possible. I have searched around the city a bunch in the past and finally on this day found a great hidden spot across the water. It is hard to believe it but at one time years and years ago Tacoma and Seattle were mano e mano in competition for the major city of the Puget Sound. As fate goes, Seattle won that battle and never looked back. Sadly, Tacoma has kind of limped on ever since though recently there have been major efforts undertaken to improve the downtown area. A further slap in the face is the major commercial and technological growth that has happened in Bellevue, Washington further leaving Tacoma in the dust. This image at least demonstrates what Tacoma could really be. Hopefully someday it can experience a renaissance and achieve a similar growth to both Seattle and Bellevue. Enjoy!

Perhaps my favorite place in SL has once again made an appearance on the grid - T Town. It's different, a little moodier, darker, maybe even a little more worn, but the same atmosphere of peace and homecoming still pervades the sim. I'm delighted!

A perfect wintery landscape in T-Town.

Dreams are there to show you the way

(Better take a look inside)

Close your eyes find out what they're trying to say

(You gotta take a look inside)

Only for a minute

Just to make a start

Imagine what you wanna see

Wake him up the wizard

Sleeping in your heart

Just imagine what you wanna be

Don't you know that...

Dreams come true they do

Dreams come true

From all of us to all of you they do

Don't you know that dreams come true

Love is just a second away

(Better take a look inside)

Make that magic rule, let the miracle stay

(You gotta take a look inside)

Only for a minute

It's not a fantasy

Just imagine what you wanna be

Don't you know that...

Don't you know that dreams come true

Don't you know that dreams come true

Only for a minute

You can make your dreams come true

When the ladies at {mon tissu} announced they were going to do a blogger search for a new {mon tissu} blogger – only one, mind you – I was nerve racked. Probably like most bloggers on the fashion grid, our anxiety kicked in and I bet the majority had it in their minds that they wouldn’t be good enough for such a store like {mon tissu}. But then I started to think about it – the majority of bloggers in Second Life, whether it be fashion or just the randomness of the grid – all have such a unique style that in order to show off ‘who they are’ they just had to take their own esthetic and showcase it.

In order to get over those anxiety issued fears, it was what I had to do and go back to what I know and that is – writing. As a blogger prior to Second Life, writing had been an outlet. When bringing it into Second Life – it became easier to tell a story through use of pictures, and especially with the fashion of such creators as the ladies at {mon tissu}. So envision each one of us, contemplating in front of our desktops, our laptops, and iPads, the ideas that are whirling in our minds on how each individual would show off her own style. I took this to heart as the image formed in my head, as myself sat down and started to design.

“Katy has just returned from another long day of classes at the university that she is now attending. It would have been in her best interest to start right in on her homework, but her mind has been going astray with so many ideas and inspired pictures, that she must get started on her entry for the {mon tissu} blogger search. Kicking off her Provence Riding Boots, she settles into her chair, grabs her laptop and starts to create what she hopes is something outstanding. She knows she is a lover of platform photography (as most loner’s tend to do) and sometimes likes to venture off and find amazing sims to take pictures in that support great detail. An idea is formed and she hops onto it.

With a great place in mind, she hops the rains have let up and that the fields would not be too muddy. She had decided to wear her Openwork Wedges and almost balked at the idea of having them smeared with such dirt, but T-Town had the most beautiful of sunsets. A flick of her scarf over the mint color of the Lycia Tank Top, Katy smoothed a quick hand, slightly damp with nerves, over her dark Nora Skinny Jeans and took to the road, making her way down to the bridge and it’s glorious sun show.”

Not only is the style at {mon tissu} amazing, but it’s also versatile and can be used in so many forms from your everyday look to your city chic that, to be honest it’s made to be in any girl’s wardrobe in Second Life.

going back to my senior year in high school.

more about it over on my blog, 2ndspring

These three pilings were found on the waterfront in Tacoma, along Ruston Way. The sky was something else that morning, but these guys weren't talking about it. They seemed content to watch the display. I decided to join them.

I've seen some fantastic shots of hiking vistas on flickr recently, and I read often how the photographer never feels so connected as when on a hike surrounded by nature. That is how I am about the Puget Sound. Whether powerboating in my boat, crewing in a race on a friend's sailboat, or simply walking along the waterway with my wife, the water is where I feel at "home". I hope you all have found your home (away from home)!

Well you only need the light when it's burning low

Only miss the sun when it starts to snow

Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low

Only hate the road when you're missing home

Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go

Staring at the bottom of your glass

Hoping one day you'll make a dream last

But dreams come slow and they go so fast

You see her when you close your eyes

Maybe one day you'll understand why

Everything you touch, oh it dies
