I know this one is gonna get a lot of views...

Yankees @ Rays - May 15, 2008

I decided to go round the stadium to get some different views which wasn’t as easy as I thought. When you enter the ballpark at the start of the game all the escalators are taking spectators upwards but just as I wanted to go up to get panorama views they switch the direction so that the fans can come down, as I was climbing the stands I had to constantly battle with the moving stairs going the wrong way

The game was good a feast of Home Runs, Double Plays and Double Steals Tampa Bay won 14-2

The Stage Is (The) Set - IMRAN™

Yes! Front row seats to Cirque du Soleil, this time for BAZZAR. My first Cirque du Soleil show was the incredible Delerium, which my then-GF in Miami T had taken us to in 2007 or so.

Even though those seats were towards the back in the arena show, that concert & circus all in one still remains one of my all-time favorites. That 2-years running show worldwide was ending and was never redone. They never even released a DVD.

Since then I’ve taken front row seats for every Cirque show (almost all in different trips to Las Vegas) — except the Beatles one, which I’ve skipped. I jumped on the opportunity to get front row seats to the latest one, BAZZAR, that played under a big top outside Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

I was traveling all that week. I literally managed to fly back into Tampa Airport just an hour or so before showtime, drove straight to the venue, parked, and got seated barely 5 minutes before the show started.

Even though the 2-hours long BAZZAR was great fun, to me it was still a fraction as mind-blowing as Delerium was 17 years ago. However, I am so glad I got to reconnect with Cirque - in an arena setting - basically where my appreciation for it started, in Florida.

He was eventually tossed.

Tropicana Field, also commonly known as The Trop, is a domed stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, that has been the home of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) since the team's inaugural season in 1998. The stadium is also used for college football, and since December 2008 has been the home of the St. Petersburg Bowl. It is currently the only non-retractable domed stadium in Major League Baseball, and is the smallest MLB stadium by seating capacity when obstructed-view rows in the uppermost sections are covered with tarp as they are for most Rays games.
