This is my first lonely tree capture, i love it

This photo is one of My 20 Favs +++

When I noticed this optical phenomen (you can read about this here) on the sky the first one in my life I attended lectures from astronomy, so after my observation I asked my professor about it . She said that it was a halo and said that she had never observed this in her life:) From this moment I've observed this phenomen many times (in the first month three ones) :) Maybe because I like looking at sun:)

I dedicated this photo for my flickr friend Malcolm thanking for his great photos (especially of trees - he is really a master of trees captures) and for his amazing comments (many of them bowled me over:) in my language (he isn't a Pole) :) Many many thx:)

Here's another shot from the Namib-Rand... and yet another dead tree... captured as the sun was setting over the horizon.

Nikon D800, Nikon 14 - 24 mm at 21 mm, ISO of 100, aperture of f/22 with a 1/13th second exposure.

Eagle heads up into the branches with its fish in tow. The soft morning lighting and tracking by the camera made this pretty capture possible. Liked how the dead leaves and branches here combined to make a painted looking bokeh too as the eagle makes it way into the trees.

Captured at ISO 6400

I end my safari experience in Madikwe, South Africa with this unusual tree captured at sunset. Marie, my guide, just knew I would be thrilled when i saw this unusual wild creation of nature. i am sorry to say that she didn't tell me the story behind how it was created. Maybe having it be a mystery is more appropriate for such a wild thing.

in future days, I'll start adding pictures of Mozambique and when they are completed we will return to South Africa with more safari scenes.

The American baseballer might have been referring to the Northland's winters. Another 4 inches (10 cm) of fresh white coated the trees again yesterday, putting a temporary halt to the thaw happily finally begun. As I view this scene from my deck, the sun is out, the temperature rising, the snow is already dropping from the trees, and the icicles have resumed their dripping as several feet of snow begins its descent from the roof. We've a long way to go, but I believe it may be that Spring has finally decided to take a stand.

[Note: For those thinking the green in yesterday's image represented new leaves, allow me to gently disabuse you of that notion. It was the pine trees captured by the light creating the illusion. It will be some time yet before any new foliage is seen on our deciduous friends. As you can see here, the oaks haven't even shed last year's foliage.]

every morning on my way to work..see this tree..captured it billion times..but every time the atmosphere is so different

Location: On a farm near Durbanville.

A winter tree, captured in front of a rainbow -- saturation and contrast turned up to make it into a piece of abstract art !

Some pink flowering ornamental trees captured this spring and painted up in brownish tones.

Original image captured with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens. It was edited on the iPad first in Snapseed then painted up in a bunch of apps then layered with blend modes and opacity settings and some textures were also applied.

Apps used include: a bunch of different Waterlogue layers, AutoPainter, Camvas.

331 second long exposure shot of the Labuan bonsai tree, captured using Lee Filter Big Stopper. It was a really beautiful afternoon today for me to photograph this beautiful place.

Took this beautiful picture driving home. I think the tree captures the whole scene together.

To the Celts and many other peoples of the old world, certain trees held special significance as a fuel for heat, cooking, building materials and weaponry. In addition to this however, many woods also provided a powerful spiritual presence. The specific trees varied between different cultures and geographic locations, but those believed to be "sacred" shared certain traits. Unusual size, beauty, the wide range of materials they provided, unique physical characteristics, or simply the power of the tree's spirit could grant it a central place in the folklore and mythology of a culture. Even our modern culture finds that certain trees capture our imagination. The mighty oak, the mystical yew and so many others are reminders of the power that trees have on our lives.

Trees are living things, filled with the essence and energy and of the Elementals and Mother Earth with an aura of power which is visible to those who are in total balance and harmony. The lore which surrounds a particular tree or wood often reflects the power the old ones sensed and drew from their presence.

Texture thanks a lot to Sistax.
