Sorry for it being a long time since my last post – I’ve been down in London seeing the gorgeous Frankie Hayward make her debut as Aurora in the Royal Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty. Simply amazing!! Coming back on the train with my luggage I was trying to keep a low profile with my new parka, courtesy of Addams, but I’d forgotten to change out of my glad rags! Sorry I don’t look a bit more excited – I’m wearing the amazing new shape from Nanika that’s designed for the new Catwa Bento head but by expression I look as though I’ve just heard that Tr*mp has just elected himself life president :worried:

I was in Palma the other day.......and the place is starting to fill up with tourists.

When you live here tourists can ask some damn fool questions........like

"Do you know the way to the hospital my husband has just been shot?"

You just say..."Que?"

or if you are asked by a little old lady from Detroit........" Young Man can you direct me to the nearest Stud Farm"

You say "no speaka de inglissh!"

It's easy......

Yesterday however a guy came up to me and said "G'day!!, can you take my photograph?"

"Que?"

"I'm from Australia" he said

"Que?"

"You know" he replied "the place Nicole Kidman comes from.In fact she is my neighbour"

"She is?" I asked

"Yep" he replied "She owns half of Australia and we live in the other half!!!!!"

"Que?" I retorted

"In fact" he said "I saw her only the other day riding her bicycle. And do you know what ?" he asked......

"No tell me" I replied....

"Well I am not sure but I thought I saw the bicycle seat smile"...........

This pic is dedicated to my Bicycle who is called Nicole.

Nicole spends most of her time in my kitchen gathering dust and doing nothing.

Typical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flickr friends, this will be my last post for several weeks. I'll be spending time with my wife in Sydney Australia and Bangkok Thailand. I took this shot on a past visit to Asia aboard a Boeing 777 as we approached Narita airport in Tokyo.

Wishing you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, all the peace, hope and joy of this Season!

This rusting wreck is resting in Death Valley.

We left on our 49 day road trip this morning. Since we are pulling a 30 foot travel trailer we don't like bad weather much, but the intermittent heavy rain and hail was not too bad. We made it to Roseburg, Oregon. We will go see a few covered bridges and waterfalls tomorrow and then be on our way through California to Death Valley.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth

Then took the other as just as fair

And having perhaps the better claim

Because it was grassy and wanted wear

Though as for that, the passing there

Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet, knowing how way leads onto way

I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence

Two roads diverged in a wood

And I took the one less traveled by

And that has made all the difference

The road cuts through Chatfield State Park in Colorado as melting fresh snowfall creates reflections among the changing Autumn trees. It was beautiful sitting here under a canopy of trees listening to the melting snow fall like raindrops.

You can smell the crispness in the air now. I love autumn. Berets all around!

I have been incredibly busy and have been writing a lot, and travelling, and applying to university and haven't had much time for photography. I still adore it as much as I do life and I know everything will quieten down in time. I miss you all and hope you are well. Happy Autumn!

Pic taken with my personal filter.

During my travels, I came across this amazing tree. He was so old and quite weary, but also very wise. He had seen all the worst humanity had to offer, but on he persevered...hoping for the time that the people would listen as he recounted from his long memory of mistakes that had come before, and the ways that they could be fixed.

He offered me shelter from the rain, and fruit from his branches to eat, and we talked well into the night as I snuggled into a crook of his roots. When I departed the next morning, I kissed his old cheek, and ran my hand over his rough bark, and said my goodbye, hoping that someday we'd meet again.

Here is one of the loves of my life, Traveling Jack. I call him that because he liked to escape and travel around our neighborhood, but always happy to return. I think it was because he was a stray. I was having fun taking photos of cookies and he wanted to try one, which is what he was looking at. Now he's old, almost blind and pretty much deaf but he's still Traveling Jack to me.
