Ireland Park commemorates the tens of thousands who fled Ireland during the Great Famine. In 1847 over 38,000 Irish men, women and children landed on the shores of Toronto, where Ireland Park now stands, fleeing famine and eager to start a new life. Although Toronto only had 20,000 inhabitants, the city welcomed the newcomers with open arms.

Well after putting around town and waiting for the right light to take a picture, this ended up being our best spot to see the city!! This was taken at 10pm at night approx..finally blue hour was upon me. A beautiful city glow and reflections along Lake Ontario. The CN Tower lit red & white to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday...

Toronto famous skyline with the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre.

Taken from the Toronto islands.

Enjoy...

Toronto Zoo Photography. Scarlet Ibis.

From Polson Pier.. It was a cold one, at -12 degrees.

Though I was obviously not the only one admiring the view as I shot alongside some fellow RCMP officers.

1 month in Toronto.

Had a long break from flickr so.

Catching up slowly.

Toronto night skyline has been a shooting assignment for a long time. Finally got a day off, heading down there by myself late in the evening but I missed the beautiful sunset and the twilight as I had to prepare dinner for my wife.Great out there at the waterfront,a bit breezy at the beginning then gradually dying down. The forecast says the temperature will plunge to minus one degree and will expect a windy day tomorrow. Please enjoy best viewing on large widescreen.

Toronto City Hall Blue Hour

On a whim, I popped down here. Hand-held HDR is a difficult thing, especially in low light.

What I like about long exposure is that it takes all the people out of the picture if they are moving ;-)

This has been a bit of a labour of love for me. I had a preconceived idea of how I wanted the image to look, and the biggest thing that would decide that would be the weather. I was expecting cloudy days when we arrived in Canada but while in Toronto it was clear skies and 30'.

However, I knew that I could still achieve the look I wanted and this is the product of many, many hours of work.
