Toronto is the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. With over 2.5 million residents, it is the fifth most populous municipality in North America. Toronto is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and is part of a densely populated region in Southern Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe, which is home to 8.1 million residents and has approximately 25% of Canada's population.[3][4][5] The census metropolitan area (CMA) had a population of 5,113,149,[1] and the Greater Toronto Area had a population of 5,555,912 in the 2006 Census.[4]
As Canada's economic capital, Toronto is considered a global city[6] and is one of the top financial centres in the world.[7][8] Toronto's leading economic sectors include finance, business services, telecommunications, aerospace, transportation, media, arts, film, television production, publishing, software production, medical research, education, tourism and sports industries.[9][10] The Toronto Stock Exchange, the world's seventh largest, is headquartered in the city, along with a majority of Canada's corporations.

Toronto Skyline as per Photoshop Lightroom 6. I just started to play with this program and realize I have lots to learn.
Downtown Toronto seen from St Catharines, ON.
I was in north end of St Catharines, close to Port Dalhousie, maybe 10m above the water level. The distance from my location to Toronto was about 45 km. There was no haze, downtown Toronto was clearly visible. ,

Toronto Skyline blue hour long exposure reflections
The tallest building is the CN tower which is 553.33 m-high (1,815.4 ft) and used to be the highest man-made observatory. There is a revolving restaurant up there which offers delicious food. In 2011, EdgeWalk (where at an elevation of 356 metres (1,168 ft), visitors tethered to an overhead rail system can walk on the roof of the main pod) opened to the public. [Source: Wikipedia]

Toronto Dominion Centre, King Street East, Toronto, Ontario.
While I was taking that picture I was chased away by the security guard because "my equipment suggests that I am a professional photographer". Thanks ;-)
I spent this weekend in the Toronto area visiting family but I had to race downtown to get a skyline shot.
Funny how I lived in Toronto for 30 years and never took this shot. Geez, the last few years in the city were spent in a condo that's part of this picture and I still never went over to the island to get this shot.
I guess we need to be tourists to hit up the popular spots. A good reminder to try and see the place you live through different eyes.
Thanks for looking!
