just one of gillian's girlies.

Every time I see my friend Moira, I can't help but think of the movie, The Cutting Edge. She must have thought I was crazy when I made the poses for this pic, but here you go, Moira. Thanks for shooting with me again.

True end is not in the reaching of the limit,

but in a completion which is limitless.

Agua, sol, aire... y amor.

Water, sun, fresh air... and love.

Now that's a phrase I'm not particularly fond of...

I am, however, quite fond of the works of Rodney Smith. He has a new blog which, I think, you'll find quite interesting because it's filled with gems like this one:

"To say a photographer has a vision is to say the photographer has something unique to say about the world. Why do some photographers have something unique to say, when so many others just shoot pictures that are general and lacking vision? Most people would say it has to do with talent. Maybe. But maybe not. Maybe it has nothing to do with talent. Maybe it has to do with the ability to express one’s feelings. The person who presents a strong vision has figured out a way to express his or her feelings, while others are struggling to do that. Talent, then, becomes not so much artistic talent, though that may be a good part of it, but rather emotional talent."

Hello! Passenger!

goodbye! Passenger!

They call them pussy-willows,

But there's no cat to see

Except the little furry toes

A little lava reaches out to the ocean to grow the Big Island, and the ocean rushes in to take it back again.

being beside the ocean is where i find the most peace, where i happen upon the most mind-boggling revelations. it's where i feel happiest, most like myself and most ready to play. maybe it's because i'm a pisces, maybe not. i just love everything about the ocean.

but i have an insane amount of respect for the power of the current and all the little and not-so-little creatures that inhabit the underwater world. so much so that i won't swim in open water. i'll barely wade in knee deep, dipping my toes is quite enough for me.

the hubby and i are taking a well-deserved belated honeymoon in august to tulum (my favorite place on earth!) and i just know that he's gonna try to twist my arm, try to lure me out into that crystal clear water. his baby blues are hard to turn down.

ack.

i'm readying myself for a breakthrough.

yeah i know, im supposed to write something about the picture, but what is there to say about it?

here i go, okay so i was going through my actions and i saw the sepia one and figured why not try it and i really like it. tell me what you think, but i like it better than black and white actually. i usually dont like my pictures in black and white so sepia is my new experiment!

ive been so busy recently with school and life in general. i really miss writing long descriptions. . . but im trying!!
