...and only that,..., nothing more.

February 27, 2005 Final day

Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don't look at it and wish you had painted something different.

Backing up another one of long lost but dear pictures for me!

Here the CN Tower with Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada. The image was taken on October 24th 1999.

The CN tower is 553 m high and was finished in 1976. At that time, and for the next 34 years, it was the world's tallest free-standing structure and the world's tallest tower.

The top of the CN tower is open to the public and has a partly glass floor which is quite special to stand on :-)

However, I read that in 2011 the CN Tower opened

the EdgeWalk, an amusement in which thrill-seekers can walk on and around the roof of the main pod of the tower at 356 m. It is the world's highest full-circle, hands-free walk. That'll be a bit more exciting than a glass floor I guess...

Scanned negative with a Plustek OpticFilm 7600i filmscanner.

Kodak 400 ISO film.

Some post-processing in Photoshop (some dust and scratch removal, histogram, contrast, noise reduction, USM).

This is an HDR panorama of an ornate fence and gate found at the Oakdale Cemetary in Wilmington, North Carolina. It really is an interesting place with old tomb stones, overgrown shrubbery and spanish moss. This fence surrounds about an acre plot of land filled with crosses and tomb stones. I added fog and glow and changed the white balance with Topaz and Nik filters. In other words, I had plans for this image when I took it.

The Gate is a suprising name for an old farm building, but it stands below Kinder Scout on the edge of the hamlet of Upper Booth.

...and it looks great in the summertime when the sun is out and the meadows are in bloom...
