~ LifeTime Friendship from My Way of Seeing ~

I know them long ago. They meet each other on the corner. Always together, discussing, laughing, even fighting but never seriously.

I met them again a few days ago, now walking slower but wit and with joy.

This picture has to present the Importance of Friendship. That it is better live a life with other people than alone. That is better to share an apple, laugh, thought than be alone.

It is not dangerous say hello when you meet your neighbor.

We all have a blood under our skin, hearts that bit, it doesn't matter which language we are speaking, where we are from - we are people and we proclaim us as Human with tendency to live a Social Life.

Idea for this Appeal I get watching a few silly movies with opposite ideas, about friendship.

This plant is occasionally called the "Fairy Iris" because the fragile white petals not only look like fairy wings, but also have a tendency to disappear mysteriously overnight!

It's real name is Dietes grandiflora DC

A blushing Lysianthus about to open up in front of a bud...

They are just so lovely and with such a delicate air!

THANX for viewing, M, (*_*)

This shot was taken during the fallow deer rut in the Forest of Dean. I have a tendency with my wildlife shots to try to get as close to the subject as I can. Quite often though, I think it makes for a better picture to show the wildlife in the context of the surroundings and habitat in which it lives... which is also a long winded way of trying to cover the fact that I alerted these deer long before I could get any nearer to them.

Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss at Sunset, West Iceland. I camped out at the top of the falls for about 2 hours prior to sunset, a bit unsure if the clouds or angle of the sun would give me anything to work with. In Icelandic fashion, some high layered clouds started rolling in right as the sun set behind the mountains behind me, creating an incredible colorful and memorable sunset at the most beautiful place in Iceland. One of my favorite shots of all time, but then Iceland has the tendency to make it easy to take those.

It was taken during his first visit to veterinary,

and he did enjoy to be there! as he was soooo spoiled :-)

My 'baby' is a "Ragdoll", a race best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature.

The name is derived from the tendency to go limp and relaxed when picked up.

So I was asked to show some different processes on these shots. This is my last one for now - its very time consuming. The second shot is just processed slightly differently adding different tones. It's quite difficult deciding what looks overdone and because it's an evening shot it has a tendency to be more surrealistic. Comments, invites, notes, all welcome. Thanks for your support everyone.

If you are taking long exposure shots and a bird suddenly arrives in the middle of your photo, pray that it will be a heron, a bird noted for its tendency to stand stock still for ages. This shot was taken at 0.6 of a second and the bird is standing so still that it is pretty much in focus.

Tulip / Tulpe (Tulipa) in a vase

More tulips in my personal Tulip Collection.

yesterday i posted a polaroid and when Sol commented that the whole polaroid biting the dust thing was "hard" i figured she was just lamenting in a general way the dwindling availability of films and papers and the over all shrinking of the "pre digital" world as it relates to photography. later that night i read the formal announcement from Polaroid that they were going out of business and then i spent an hour or more on different forums reading comments and opinions and speculations as to the future of the polaroid medium.

polaroid has been the single most influential aspect of my work as a photographer - even more than "film" and certainly more than digital with which i'm still in the process of getting acquainted. i could go on and on about how much i love polaroid - it's various "looks" - the specially modified cameras i love and use with it - how much i've learned about my vision from working with it - how it's effected and informed my process of seeing and making photographs - and perhaps most significantly how it's connected me with people through the years.

but this is not why i'm writing this. this is not a grave side testimonial.

after i read the announcement i mada a cup of coffee and went outside and sat on the porch, and within a short time i was overwhelmed with this sense of . . . . . ???

i'm not sure how to say it. i guess simply put it's common wisdom that everything we know "shall pass" - our shoes will wear out our loved ones will move away and eventually die - we will grow old and we will die . . . . . everything is changing - everything shall pass.

but what i was overwhelmed with was not some sort of doom and gloom thing - it was different than that. it wasn't about trying to hold on to or stockpile what can be stockpiled, it wasn't about coming up with some sort of strategy for slowing down or avoiding or de-sensitizing or managing in the face of eventual "loss" - it was something different, something about my feeling called to more deeply step into my experience of living - to be more present - more in the moment and more in touch with my appreciation and respect and love for all that i have while i have it - appreciative of all the gifts of life, my friends my loved ones my health a nice day . . . . .

i can't stop things from changing and it seems life is at least a lot about moving with and embracing certain kinds of change - but perhaps i can become more aware of my tendency to take things for granted, to act as if they'll always be the way i've known them to be.

maybe i can't effect the big unavoidable changes of life but maybe i

can effect change in my self - maybe i can be more in touch with my sense of appreciation and be more thankful and expressive of my appreciation for all that i have

i guess that's what i wanted to say and in keeping with that i wanted to say it here, to you. that in the remarkable and mysterious way that you and i are connected that i deeply appreciate your presence in my life.

thank you a lot

gary . . .

Hold me, embrace me, cocoon me...

An experiment to try and calibrate my monitor, Flickr has weird tendencies to alter my photos after uploading.

This squirrel sat at the edge of the fence for quite some time. I eventually ruined this squirrel's moment of silence as I walked too close.

I have a tendency of placing my watermark anywhere that fits in my images. I keep finding more and more of my images taken for use on google images and youtube video backgrounds. Recently found one of my Toronto photos used for a dubstep music video - cropped and removed my watermark because I placed it on the bottom of the image.

I had worse, once time someone took a photo and photoshoped my watermark named out and replaced it with their own! I had that one taken down. The person claimed he found it on googles images. "yeah, Google images via flickr.com/photos/erniekwong/"

I guess we all have a fair share of these unpleasant encounters, perhaps some more and worse.

Ok enough of my rant, I apologize lol

white red kite (the correct term is leucistic ). leucistic means that the coloration is mainly pure white and not the usual reds and blacks of a normal kite.

In wales around one percent of hatchlings show leucistic tendencies, lack of melamin pigment in the skin of animals is a relatively rare genetic trait and is evident in red kites due to the very small gene pool from which they are derived here in wales.

Alstroemeria, the genus named after the Swedish baron Alströmer who brought them back from a trip to South America in 1753. Also called the Peruvian Lily or Inca Lily, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants. Almost all of the species are restricted to one of two distinct centers of diversity, one in central Chile, the other in eastern Brazil. Species of Alstroemeria from the Atacama Desert of Chile are winter-growing plants while those of Brazil are summer-growing.

The flower, which resembles a miniature lily, is very popular for bouquets and flower arrangements in the commercial cut flower trade. They have a vase life of about two weeks.View LARGE and On Black

To reach a closer understanding of both these tendencies, let us begin by viewing them as the separate art realms of dream and intoxication, two physiological phenomena standing toward one another in much the same relationship as the Apollinian and Dionysian.

The Ragdoll is a cat breed with blue eyes and a distinct colorpoint coat. It is a large and muscular semi-longhair cat with a soft and silky coat.[1] Developed by American breeder Ann Baker, it is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature. The name "Ragdoll" is derived from the tendency of individuals from the original breeding stock to go limp and relaxed when picked up.

Who does not love his brother whom he has seen can not love God whom he has not seen.

I think there will come a day when all people will meet and become brothers even though it is hard to believe, can not be so, in the DNA of humanity there is a tendency towards unity, hate can not win the Love . I believe that there is nothing stronger and greater than love, love conquers all ! Charlie has multiplied and is continuing to live in the hearts of every person who believes in love! "Je suis Charlie !
