HMM! Sharp as a Tack

One of our local hotspots for tourism.

Sunset at Tacking Point Lighthouse in Port Macquarie

First post of a new shot captured in 2013 - Awesome.

Met up with the very talented man Aaron for a sunrise shoot in Port Macquarie while on holidays with the family (Thanks my good man). Be wary of this location folks cause my word, did we get attacked by mosquitos as we sat around waiting for the sun to come up. Unfortunately, despite the bites, we didn't get the colour we were after but there was some seriously nice warmth after it did arrive.

A abandoned house,probably lived here a hunter.

Much stuff is gone....but the location is still a beauty!

Update: This location is demolished!

Tacking Point Lighthouse.

Constructed in 1879 the lighthouse was automated in 1919 and had a range of 30 kilometres.

I have received over 30,000 views on my photo "Ser dig!". I'm incredibly happy and very grateful that you took the time to watch it, like it and comment. This photo is for you! THANKS!

I shot this a few weeks ago but hadn't got around to uploading it until today.

This is Tacking Point Lighthouse at Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Today I reached out to a lot of my friends here on flickr and asked them to go out of their way to vote for me in a frivolous online photography competition and was shocked at how happy each and every one of you were to help me out!

You guys rock - so this one is for you!

Press "L" to view this large on black and, as always, thanks for looking!

Game On..........He Who Dares Wins.

Day 1 of my road trip up the east coast of Australia. First stop Port Macquarie. This is sunrise at the light house.

Tack, thumbtack, pin, pushpin. Looks best on black.

Historic Tacking Point lighthouse after dark. The Tacking Point lighthouse in Port Macquarie is one of the oldest in Australia -establisged in 1879

There is no external lighting, so this was a 2 minute exposure, with the lighthouse and surrounds illuminated by a small LED torch.
