Another of my sunsets along the river Thames, it was such a fabulous and beautiful evening that this is the third image from the batch that I took!
It is all a bit of a hit and miss affair when you are taking shots like this because you are not to sure how the rays are going to come out!

Ἠέλιος μὲν γὰρ ἔλαχεν πόνον ἤματα πάντα,

For Helios the Sun’s lot is toil every day and there is never any respite for him and his horses, from the moment rose-fingered Eos (the Dawn) leaves Okeanos and goes up into the sky. A lovely bed, hollow, forged by the hands of Hephaistos, of precious gold and winged, carries him, as he sleeps soundly, over the waves on the water’s surface from the place of the Hesperides [in the West] to the land of the Aithiopes [in the East], where his swift chariot and horses stand until early-born Eos (the Dawn) comes. There the son of Hyperion mounts his other vehicle." -
Wednesday's "Grand Opening"
The rest of the day proved to be just as beautiful as its beginning.

Another in this series! I did this with a mirror sunk in some water to get the reflection, the grass stem was placed in a tub with earth to hold it up and sprayed with water to get the droplet for those of you that are interested in such things! with the aid of PS as well!
Same evening as the one posted a few days ago, but slightly later, just goes to show on evening like this every few minutes gives you different scenes! This is the river Thames at Erith, Kent a mile from home!
Taken at sunset on the cliff tops of Portland Dorset , about time we finally had a little summer here

Aquí os dejo una fotografía de una de las mejores luces que el bosque me ha regalado, por momentos no distinguía si estaba soñando o estaba realmente despierto. Espero que os guste y muchas gracias por vuestros comentarios

Taken on a footpath near Aldbourne, Wiltshire, UK. After this photograph the sun disappeared for the rest of the evening, so none of the sunset photographs I had planned came about. But at least I got this one from earlier on in the evening.
Interesting effects from a vintage lens. (The rainbow 'sundog' was real but the weird flare is lens-induced)
This one is from a truly insane evening late in may. I shot this around half an hour after midnight. The whole evening had already proven to be extraordinary. A blanket of pitch black clouds had created the most magnificent display of colour and drama you can imagine.
I knew that the midnight sun would appear in this spot at exactly this time and i wasnt disappointed. The dark clouds darkened the whole scene and the sun was intense in the gap between sea & sky. An extremely difficult shot to pull off because of the enormous dynamic range.
This may not seem real, but this is as close to reality as i was able to come... I just love how the sunlight is showing through the blueish water over the rocks.
I wish i had a reverse grad for this scene, but i still managed to get some detail out of the sky. It was a sick night...
That said, i`m not sure if the photograph itself is any good. So please let me know if it lacks anything...

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah
Make you wanna move your dancing feet now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you understand?
When the mornin´ gather the rainbow, yeah, yeah
Want you to know, I'm a rainbow too now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you, can you, can you understand?
Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now
Make you wanna move your dancing feet, yeah
But to the rescue, here I am
Want you to know just if you can,
here I stand, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Can you understand me now, baby?
Do you believe me?

As I am going through my shots of last year I found this original, one of those moments when as a photographer it all makes sense, freezing your fingers and toes off and asking yourself "What in gods name am I doing here" well this image is the answer to that, when I held up the camera to take this you get a tingling sensation all over but those three birds was the magical moment I had just one chance at this!
This didn't really work at all but there is something about the effect on the sun that made me think this might be worth keeping
The whole Vale had been covered in fog -- for once too much for me to take many photos.
Then on my way home, through the fog, I began to see the sun light up the sky above the hills. Of Course I stopped, and watched it rise slowly, and finally appear. Pure Magic -- above the fog.
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

'obscured sun' On Black rather better.

This was very strange light. It had been sunny, but the clouds were rolling over, soon to be quite dark. This was a moment in between, almost a ghostly light.
The sun rises over the Balearic Sea. Didn't have to think too much about this just a beach and some rather nice light.
Single image processed in Lightroom.
Thanks for looking
