Helianthus annuus in late fall condition inhabiting a heavily disturbed roadside (often graded, sprayed with herbicide, and traveled by pedestrians and dogs) along with Panicum capillare and crested wheatgrass. The grasses off to the side of the road comprise mostly Bromus inermis, Dactylis glomerata, and some Agropyron smithii.

Story Hills converted sagebrush steppe with mostly exotic grasses including Bromus inermis, Agropyron cristatum, and Dactylis glomerata but with with some Agropyron smithii. The UTV tracks attest to extent this landscape is subjected to herbicide (on an annual basis). Cheatgrass is occasional in this vegetation especially on bare disturbed soil.

Naturally the first thing set up was the CD changer, receiver and speakers. This was what I spun to keep me moving.

We ran up to Door County for a concert in the park this past Sunday. My favorite band was there

C didn't last very long so hubby took him to a park. At least J and I had a blast.

dh took this right before the concert started.

12. Storyhill!!!

My first day back in Minnesota was a full one -- I was awake and with people for 20 hours!

*After some morning conversation with Mom, I went to the lakes for a run around Calhoun. Love the lakes!

*Then Mom, Dad, Sara and I went to REI and "The Tall Girl" (my two favorite stores to visit in MN). Dad, Sara & I bought shoes at REI and then I found 2 pairs of LONG pants at Tall Girl.

*Then home for some good eating.

*Then to visit Becky and Benjamin at the hospital.

*Then Carla picked me up to go to Julie & Daniel's open house, they've been in MN for two months and return to Austria on Tuesday. What a treat to see them!

*Then to the Storyhill concert at the zoo with Carla and Marie where I ran into Jenny, Jason & Jennifer. As always, Chris & Johnny put on a great show... and I love, love, love outdoor concerts.

*Then to Paul Bradley's house for some ice cream and a sing along. We were about to leave just after mid-night when Paul introduced us to "urge" - his on-line music membership where he has access to some amazing music. We started with some old school Petra... moved to Amy Grant (giggle!)... DC Talk's first album (from 1988)... Whiteheart... Peter Cetera... REO Speedwagon... George Michael... and more. There were some serious walks down memory lane and lots of loud singing along. And, we didn't get to bed til after 3 a.m. I think I was transported back to the 80s and thought I could handle the late nights like I did back then.

*Uff da. But, what a fun, full day and night....

One of the largest and oldest cemeteries in Milwaukee. Lots of large crypts and monuments. Worth exploring if you have the mind to.

Three bracketed exposures 1 stop apart. Processed in Photomatix for HDR. Imported .TIFF into Lightroom, edited a copy in photoshop for sharpening, color enhancements etc. Saved back to LR, cropped, strong contrast curve applied, slight bump in clarity, converted to B&W, split toning applied, vignette applied.
