An exceptional, almost magical event, and yet so easily overlooked, only lasting for seconds, and best observed through binoculars or the zoom lens of the camera:
A sun rise at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
On the way back from a hike at Mount Edith Cavell I noticed the sun reappearing over the rim of the mountain. Wind blowing over the cliff edge raised fine snow dust and its backlit particles were glowing like sparkling stars on the sky, while the steam of a small cloud colorfully refracted the light, reminding me of the stardust of a far away galaxy.
Certainly something I have not seen before.

She was stardust, you see?
She drifted through time and space, through endless parallels, touching all of creation.
She watched suns burn bright in their birth.
She saw galaxies die and fade away.
All she was doing was searching.
She wanted to find that one thing that could hold her and yet never contain her.
Eyes are blind.
They saw her as this shining, shimmering example of beauty that they all wanted to keep for themselves.
They forgot that you have to look with your heart.
They didn't see how she mourned all the loss around her.
They didn't feel the sadness that she carried deep within.
They didn't know the wonder she found in the littlest things.
To them, she was a possession.
But the wonderful thing about stardust is that it can drift away and begin anew.
She is stardust, you see?
