Beneath a huge old sugar gum tree at South Coast Botanic Garden is a mound of African daisies whose petals are fascinatingly spoon-shaped. At mid-November, I saw just a few new blossoms, including this very delicate young one. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/6.3, 1/80 sec., ISO 400, filtered morning sun, handheld)

The money shot on the Keokuk Junction Railway chase is the Spoon River bridge. I'll be back for the A-B-A set someday hopefully.
one of the last shots from my old faithful 60D, bugger!
Got drenched by a rogue wave while snapping away & camera has given uo the ghost. I've got it in a container full of rice ( funny the things you find on google) but not a good prognosis. sigh .......
Off to start researching cameras .... anyone had any experience with the new mirrorless breeds ?
cheers
"King of Karterados",
little Spoon was found in the trash one week before I visited "Caveland", a hostel where he lives now.
Hundreds of wooden spoon are on display for sale on a turquoise plane lying on the sidewalk of the main shopping street in Pondicherry. South India.
I rummaged through the cutlery drawer for something to photograph.
Textured with August painterly flypapers.
A very tarnished spoon holding some Szechwan pepper.

Headed back up the Central Coast yesterday and checked out a few locations for future shoots, but had to make my way back to Spoon Bay as we had some unfinished business from last shoot. I find this location is the worse for sea spray and it's a constant battle to keep it off the filters but definately worth the effort.
This is a single image with b&w layer converted to soft light in photoshop. Curves, levels, colour balance etc also performed in photoshop
An example of photoelastic birefringence. Not Photoshopped. Shot on top of an iPad (which has a polarized screen) with a white display in daylight and a circular polarizer on my lens. Rotating the polarizer caused the background to go black and the psychedelic colours you see here to change in these otherwise clear spoons!
Focusing on the edge of the spoons caused the pixelated colours to blend together! This is a pretty cool phenomenon!

Edgar Lee Masters
"Where are Elmer, Herman, Bert, Tom and Charley,
The weak of will, the strong of arm, the clown, the boozer, the fighter?
All, all are sleeping on the hill".
"Dove sono Elmer, Herman, Bert, Tom e Charley,
l’abulico, l’atletico, il buffone, l’ubriacone, il rissoso?
Tutti, tutti dormono sulla collina".
This is the second (and the last...) shot about spoon river ; I know I can be boring, but, believe me, I like it so much...

Questo è il secondo (e ultimo, giuro...) scatto relativo a spoon river; so di essere forse noioso, ma, credetemi, mi piace così tanto...

Another light workshop for the restaurant. This time trying to have
light under kitchen tools. I choose a spoon in order to remind a great
spoon work I saw before in Lisa Karloo's
gallery. Please give her a visit, he deserve it!

Another image from my spoon and forks session. My previous posting of a similar abstract image was in b/w and was well received. This time another angle and shot but in colour. However if you wish to compare please see below.
