I love here the china blue against this vibrant orange and the highlight in the top cloud.. it all came together for me.. that night was a good one for me!
I started shooting tonight's sunset when it was "really pretty" and it kept getting redder and redder and was SO amazing! I wish I had been somewhere with no wires in sight! View On Black Wow...Explored at #106 Nov.15
We are having thunderstorms & lightings in the evenings the past week. Spectacular sky show but frightening at times.
Anyway have a Happy Sunday!

gone the sun. Isn't this a spectacular sky? The only editing I did was to crop it down. God is so gracious giving us such wonders! Have a wonderful rest of the evening, everyone! Sleep well and with the angels.

Because my wife Jannie had surgery, and is still in hospital.
I have less time for flickr, to respond, but I'll do my best.
Omdat mijn vrouw Jannie is geopereerd, en nog in het ziekenhuis ligt.
Heb ik wat minder tijd voor flickr om te reageren, maar ik doe mijn best.
My flickr photostream looks better on Fluidr

For three mornings while we in Torquay I got up early to try and capture the sunrise. On the second morning I was at the beach well before first light in the hope of finding some nice rock pools or formations to place in the foreground if the sky did light up. Luckily I was given a spectacular sky but failed to find a spot with an interesting foreground.
A spectacular sky yesterday @ sunset.
Another classic one.

I took this yesterday evening. It was clear and hot all day and then these spectacular clouds show up after sunset along with the moon. You never know what the skies will produce in this isolated desert valley.

The sky was really spectacular that day, my little point and shoot can't do justice to it. Stitched 4 photos to make this view.
Went with John to Natural Bridges hoping for spectacular skies but I was happy with the wave action in this shot.
Saturday night's sunset in Cleveland. I was very surprised to find that I was the only photographer there. it was such a spectacular sky!

The second visit to the top of the road to view the sunset provided a spectacular sky. This is one in a series taken on that occasion.
All week long, we've been having the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets -- something that rarely happens in our area. Because we live in a valley, we don't have many open views of the horizon, so unless we have very dramatic clouds that pick up color, the sun's ups and downs are usually pretty uneventful.
Unfortunately, I've missed photographing the spectacular skies all week because I have an 8-5, office job. Yesterday, I got off at 4:00 so I could do my grocery shopping. When I finished up at the store, it was 4:45 and the sky was turning all sorts of wild colors. (and luckily, I had my camera with me)
I decided my groceries would have to stay in the trunk of the car while I tried to find someplace acceptable to take some sunset shots. I found a few so-so places in the Cross Keys/Port Republic area. This shot really doesn't show the full extent of the dramatic sky, but I liked the orange color and the cows. It was shot at 300mm and underexposed by 1 stop.
Probably my last post for a while sooo....Goodbye to the day... and to my Flicker Friends for about 2 weeks. I hope you all have happy shooting days... see you soon!
This was the most amazing change of sky. After many days of cloudy, rainy weather and not much color for sunrise or sunset, this spectacular sky was visible for a few fleeting moments....below is the 'Before' image, and several 'After' images, taken only minutes apart. Behind me was a double rainbow... I hardly knew where to point my camera, and it was over far too soon!
An apology is due to all of you, I haven't been a very good contact lately. Life has it's own paths at the moment. All is well with me, just lots going on. I will be off Flicker for about 2 weeks after the 10th of this month.
El pasado viernes tuve la suerte de observar estos espectaculares cielos mientras entrenaba con la bicicleta.
Last Friday I was lucky to see these spectacular skies while I was training with my bike.
Venerdì scorso ho avuto la fortuna di vedere questi cieli spettacolari mentre l'allenamento con la bicicletta
I was expecting more spectacular sky. I've waited for the rays and I got them. Shot at Santa Monica today, 6th December 2009.
Another one from last November, taken on a beautiful evening with spectacular skies caused by the weather changing from extreme cold to a very, very warm and temperate snap which lasted until mid-January of this year.
This sky truly resembled a painting, so I played that up some for this image!

So on the last day of our summer road trip, we planned to get to the beautiful little town of Dunsmuir by evening. I had an alternative reason for this timing, Mt Shasta. Since my first visit to Mt Shasta some 4 years ago, I have been fascinated by the southernmost peak of the Cascade Range and the nearby small towns.
We came across this mount and the barn as we were done with the shoot and heading back to the hotel. The sun has already set but there was still the warm glow left in the sky. Plus the moon had risen to complement the mountain and the spectacular sky. Thankfully the road was pretty empty so I could jump out and set up my shot before the light faded.
Basically, this is my backyard!
I exit my back gate and walk west for a few feet, and there is a sloped path leading down into Fish Creek Park, and it is lined with magnificent trees that look especially beautiful with a fiery sunset filtered through them!
Got our biggest snow of the year so far yesterday, after a week and a half of truly nice, temperate weather, and we were also given a spectacular sky to celebrate the occasion!
Mount cook in New Zealand has some of the clearest skies in the world!! Sitting under such spectacular skies brings a connection with nature and the world around us. Out here in the mountain ranges everything seems pure, natural and untouched by human kind.

This upload is 3 merged photos (different exposures) from last night's beautiful sunset. Nancy and I made a quick run out when we saw the spectacular sky. Below is a single photo which is still nice, but the 1 large cloud was overexposed, and lost the beautiful yellow rays.
Nipped out with John Wilkie again last night! It was once again a spectacular sky and sunset! Nature is truly awe-inspiring!

I saw this spectacular sky looking out of my room yesterday. Took a couple of shots and processed this HDR.
Wave-like interspersed clouds, coupled with a near-full moon, made for a spectacular sky in the early hours of an April morning. This was taken at around 3am, with a Nikon D800 and Samyang 14/2.8 lens.
