Strobist: shot in a shoe box, Monster uplit by SB600 at 1/8th power via a 45 degree mirror, grey background is Vivitar 285HV backlit at 1/16 power through piece of copier paper. The dreamer is lit with a gridded, snooted and snooted again Vivitar 285HV. The bubbles are taken from two holes cut in the black card off to camera right (in uncropped shot) and shifted into place in PS.

Cara's idea

 

A disc cast in a mould from a backgammon piece experiment.

 

She picked the piece, the parts and all I did was put it where she told me (see diagram below)

 

He's held on by tiny neodymium magnets and the led lights up (natch)

If you look at the photo in the large size you can see more easily that the center star is formed by the towers and bridge bed of the Williamsburg bridge. The blue surrounding it is the East River.
