APRA HARBOR, Guam (Jan. 12, 2021) Sailors deployed from the Navy Expeditionary Logistics capability of Task Force 75 operate a twin crane to lift on a Mark VI patrol boat aboard the Military Sealift Command’s large, medium-speed roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Soderman (TA-AKR 317) in Apra Harbor, Guam. Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 1 is the Navy’s only active duty cargo handling battalion and is a rapidly deployable operating unit of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, capable of loading and discharging ships and aircraft in all climatic and threat conditions. GUAM (Feb. 24, 2016) Sailors assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron 3 (CRS 3) embark a Riverine Command Boat (RCB) aboard Military Sealift Command USNS Soderman (T-AKR 317) for exercise Foal Eagle 2016 at Naval Base Guam. Foal Eagle is a series of joint and combined field training exercises conducted by The Republic of Korea-United States Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea component commands spanning ground, air, naval and special operations, which demonstrate U.S. commitment to the Republic of Korea and U.S. supporting forces. CRS 3 is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of responsibility.
