Scrambled to catch the epic sunrise this morning, so I hit something close to home I haven’t done in awhile. Checked the weather the night before and it didn’t look promising, go figure. The trails in the water are from sculls.

nanook13: Nice!
fentanyl69: Thanks @nanook13 !
caught a beautfiul spring sunset in the city with some really fantastic colors in the sky...cropped the frame to a pano format for a better presentation of this sunset scene...the place looks deserted as the temps that night was dipping in the very low single digits...hope everyone had a great weekend...pls. The New York City skyline at sunset in silhouette as viewed from the river.
Still going through some of my older panoramas. Loving the transition from sunset to night's darkness on the right that occurs in this one.

The New York City skyline in silhouette at sunset.
Looking out over the iconic skyline of lower Manhattan, specifically the financial district skyline during a sunset after a storm.

One thing I love about photographing Boston is that all the usual spots present unique opportunities as the seasons change. This image is a great example, with a warm up in winter the Charles River was all water and no ice. But, there was still snow encrusted boats at the MIT Sailing Pavilion. An incredibly unique combination that I took advantage of with great sunrise light. I only had one chance at this 7 min exposure with the following optical filters controlling light entering the lens.
LEE Filters "Big Stopper" 3.0ND (10-Stop) 100x100mm
LEE Filters 0.9 Hard-Edge Graduated ND (3-Stop) 100x150mm

Been trying for another take of the MIT Sailing Pavilion for the past few weeks on mornings with clouds. This ended up being the best of the batch. This angle is tough this time of year due to the position of the sun.

I got to this spot during twilight and refined my angle while waiting for sunrise. I didn't think the color was going to hit but I got lucky. The color lasted long enough for this 500 sec exposure at ISO 50 using LEE Filters "Big Stopper" (3.0 ND) and LEE Filters 0.9 Hard GND.

Here is a newer work. I haven't been posting much here but I've still been busy taking photos. It was a super calm on the Charles River and there was some decent clouds, so I took advantage. This is a 240 sec exposure with LEE filters Little Stopper and LEE 0.9 Hard GND.
The New York City skyline in silhouette at sunset one fine evening.
A storm just occurred earlier in the day and the storm clouds opened up briefly during sunset allowing the sun to cast a beautiful orange glow on the river from between the iconic New York City skyscrapers.
