Seymour Tower, Jersey Channel Islands, taken during an enjoyable 3.2 mile round trip on bank holiday afternoon in May.
The classic view along Fulking Escarpment on the South Downs transformed river of fog flowing over the hills and into the Weald.
Although there is mist hanging under the Downs quite regularly at this time of year, this 'fogfall' phenomenon is quite rare. If the conditions are right a bank of fog is blown gently inland from the sea until it become blocked by the hills. It builds up on the shallower southern slopes until it starts to overflow through the little cols along the ridge line, where the colder temperature of the vapour forces it to hug the curve of the hillside down into the Weald beneath. I've seen this happen a couple of times before but never been there with a camera. It's hard to do it justice in a photo, the movement of the fog as it flows down the steep sides of the escarpment is utterly mesmerising. Standing on the top as it flows past is quite surreal too, the fog is often only a few feet deep so at times you can have your feet in the clouds and head in the clear air above. Brilliant to finally get to see it again.

The still water of the Currituck Sound reflects the sky like a mirror making the sea grass growing in the shallows look as though it's breaking through the clouds. The view is toward Point Harbor on the mainland. You can just barely make out the long bridge to Kitty Hawk. The photograph was shot just south of Duck. Thank you for coming and as always, I appreciate your comments and faves. Have a Great Weekend.
Skyfall
Adele
This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again
For this is the end
I've drowned and dreamt this moment
So overdue I owe them
Swept away, I'm stolen
Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

#2 from Saturday's few hours up north - this one from Loch Tulla, looking towards the Black Lodge Estate. As the title suggests, the estate mansion has a particularly close connection with James Bond. Not only were the final action sequences for the film Skyfall shot in and around the Glencoe and Glen Etive area, the Black Mount Lodge [pictured] is actually owned by the Fleming family - most famous of which being Ian - creator of the fictional spy.
