It's not until I'd processed this photo that I realised just how many different signs are competing for attention along this street! It was the woman looking in the jewellery shop window that caught my attention.... none of the other shops were open at the time.
LARGE View for the signs of life!
My dear friends, as you might have noticed, I am not very much active on flickr those days! However, this morning I managed to wake up at 4am, then drove to the desert to shoot the sunrise, the morning temperature was 22 C, almost feeling cool! (in Dubai it still goes up to 34 C during the day).
I wish you a great week end!
This a 7 exposures tone-mapped HDR.

While on a photo-walk of the Cornell campus with Simon and Stacey we spotted these fuzzies glowing in the sun. Nevermind that I had to stand on 12" of snow to get this shot... It was a nice sign that life will in fact return to Central New York....I was starting to doubt it.
I've been quite busy these past few weeks but I hope to get back in the groove next week. I have a mountain of flickring to catch up on! Hope everyone is doing well!
Signs of Autumn most definatly just around the corner in Snowdonia this weekend, with the cooler weather patterns lately and the changing colours in the grass and shorter days with lower sun certainly bring out the detail within the landscape, great place to be.

No structures currently exist that would seem to be tied to this sign. Just the sign is all that is left.
Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

The rows of stubble fields near the semi-ghost town of Winnifed are slowly filling with layers of snow pack, and as wikipedia outlines, only memories and archive photos remain. On a crisp wintery Sunday, the prairie view is vast and all is not lost. Holiday Season shopping is presently under way, and decorative elements are hanging from everywhere. It's maybe a slow time for rabbits as well.
"By the 1960's Winnifred became a ghost town except for the grain elevators and their operators. Eventually they too would cease to exist and were torn down. Very little of Winnifred’s rich history remains, just memories and photos."
"The 1920’s were harsh years for the remaining settlers, with drought, clouds of grasshoppers and finally hordes of rabbits who ate everything that looked like grain."
There is a spot of good news in the wikipedia description...
"Today young families are moving back into Winnifred in a sense repopulating the town once again."

For the past few weeks, there have been increasing signs of autumn here in Vancouver - the temperature has dropped, the leaves are starting to change colours, and some leaves are already beginning to fall. I took this photo of some leaves changing colours at Vandusen Botanical Garden earlier this evening. Have a great evening or day everyone!

A little serie of snaps from last week-end. This is the first daffodil blooming in the garden. Could not reach the flower with the viewfinder couse the angle was to low and in the middle of rose spines so I just made some adjustments on the settings forgetting in this shot to put on the AF and trigged poiting to the flower by guessing. This one, because of the manual focus not fixed, is blurred. I like the abstract effect (maybe little bit dark) and my opinion the monochrome conversion fitted better.

"Signs are small measurable things, but interpretations are illimitable, and in girls of sweet, ardent nature, every sign is apt to conjure up wonder, hope, belief, vast as a sky, and colored by a thimbleful of matter in the shape of knowledge..."
I have one day off this week from work, so I thought I'd throw something up for Monday Blues.
I'm so happy to see some signs of spring!
Sorry to hear about the snow storms for my contacts on the East Coast!
