Normally NSM runs shorter trains when the air temp is below zero but this 58-car move is shorter than usual, possibly due to ore recovery issues at the mine. The temp as reported by a detector was -10F, cool but not as cold as it will likely get this winter.
I became a new home owner yesterday! My brother picked up the travel trailer from its previous owner and has it safely parked at his house. Dan used to design and build million dollar plus (before the economy went south) homes and has a great eye for quality and soundness and he is about as excited as I am. This is a good sign. There are a few cosmetic and comfort changes that he has suggested and that I would like to make but all in all everything is sound. You can see a picture of the trailer on my Facebook page.
Yesterday I began the process of going through stuff, tossing garbage, making the keep pile, the sell pile, the pile for mom and the grandchildren pile. I am so excited that my oldest granddaughter is going to take all of my art supplies. She will have a blast! Gotta tell you, once I began throwing things away, it became addictive.
Also finally put together a date for being out of the house and heading to Sacramento to get the trailer and that makes everything real.
Thank you for continuing to follow my journey. I wish that there were more hours in the day and more of me to go around but there isn't. The health and energy is improving and the dog walks are getting a little longer but I am still sleeping about four extra hours a night. My body is taking good care of itself.
Have a great day!

Trombone Shorty..support act on the recent Jeff Beck UK tour....absolutely amazing live act. He has all the technical prowess of say Miles Davis, but great commercial appeal as well.
South Shore car 33 brings up the rear of a four car rush hour train of shorties around 21st St. in July 1975.

while we were there we saw a hen harrier a couple of times and also long tail tits, robin, kestrel, bullfinch, great tit and blue tit – great place for birds!
