This was my last look at the Short-eared Owls this spring. I stayed at the fields until dark enjoying my time with them because I knew they would be leaving any day, and they did. This was taken at dusk and I love the cool tones.
Reworked the torso, head, and overhead sensor. The legwork is probably inspired by MItten Ninja's stuff and the head/eyes obviously by LowestForm0fWit.

Spent yesterday afternoon up in Perthshire in a little Glen I frequent now and then having had some success there in the past with Stoats and grouse and a few other birds,but on this occasion I was hoping to photograph my first Short Eared Owls in over 2 years! Fortunately for me I got a brief encounter as I caught a glimpse as I was driving up the single track road of a bird hunting in the field to the left and below me when the bird flew up and across the road and posted on the fence.I managed to grab a couple of shots inching the car a little bit closer each time before a toot of a horn put the bird back in the air.Was a nice day watching a few of these birds hunting although to far away for images.
