“A person needs at intervals to separate from family and companions and go to new places. One must go without familiars in order to be open to influences, to change.” - Katharine Butler Hathaway

Another take, again in the main lobby.

This newly opened shopping mall features the kitschiest mall interior in Shanghai so far. Beats the interiors of Las Vegas or Macau casinos in the application of pseudoart and kitsch by lengths.

Nonetheless, some great photo-opportunities inside, so more to come...

Croisière sur la Rivière Huangpu

The 3 super Skyscrapers of Shanghai! Shanghai (Left - 632m), Shanghai World Financial Centre (Middle - 492m) & Jin Mao Tower (Right - 420.5m). This was captured along Century Avenue in Lujiazhui, Shanghai.

Shanghai Tower is currently the tallest structure in China & the second tallest in the world. It is a vertical city which will contain an enclosed ecosystem of shops, office space, hotel & apartments.

这是以前的一张片子,条件所限,没有三脚架,手持高ISO.

The bright lights of the city center and the distinctive new skyscrapers that form the skyline along the Pudong district of the Huangpu River is spectacular at night.

Have a great day, another sweltering hot day in Sydney!

Shanghai.

It is not at all what I was expecting. The city is progressive, vibrant and growing at a breakneck pace. I tried to capture the mood in this photo. I was hoping to get some shots of classic China, but the attitude here is toward new and bigger. The slogan for the city is, "Better City, Better Life."

Is spring in Shanghai and let warm it up with some colors.

Longyang Lu Maglev station

The decision to re-shoot a cityscape you're already really pleased with is not an easy one to make, but taking my Medium Format camera system up to the same rooftop delivered an amazingly detailed result as the city zoomed past on the illuminated elevated freeways below. © Paul Reiffer - Read more: www.paulreiffer.com/2014/09/shanghai-calling-2-the-phase-...
