Yes folks my immature male ruby throat got his Senior picture taken today as in such a short time he has run off the older dominant male. For now he is not even afraid of me which is nice.

I will eventually get out and about taking "other" pictures but I am hooked on watching these jewels dance about the garden.

Have a wonderful week! I am forced to play golf tomorrow...Ha!

Out in the drizzling rain they came....

Another from the Senior shoot but with a little editing.

Out again with the Senior! Finally a nice day for some photos and we were all over Parker having fun.

Senior session with Loren;

she's SO cute! :)

My 90 year old grandmother at her SENIOR PROM. She suffers from the horrible Alzheimers disease. On Saturday April 18th the memory care establishment she stays in hosted a Senior Prom for the patients. Sometimes it is hard to get her out of her pajamas, but it made her feel good to dress up and receive compliments about looking so pretty.

I recently had the pleasure of shooting the senior portraits for the lovely Diane. She had a great location picked out and the weather cooperated nicely. We had a great session and came back with some wonderful photos. She was a real natural in front of the camera!

The "Senior Promenade" is held in Jadwin Gym the night before graduation. Unlike high school proms, you're encouraged to bring your family along.

Had a senior session today. I thought it would be a re-schedule since it started hailing 30 minutes before the set up time. I had to reschedule it once already due to bad weather. Luckily it turned out to be a nice afternoon. My wife chipped in to assist. Many thanks to her and to the young lady who was patient with a long shoot. During our pre-session meeting she asked for a field of flowers, bare-foot, natural look. I think we got it. :) For the garage sale junkies out there, the chair with cushion cost me ten bucks last weekend. Score!

Senior portrait eyes of a teenage girl

My granddaughter is graduating high school this year.

Just a couple of senior portraits I did for my lovely girlfriend, Sarah. I really wish I could have been back in Milton more so I could have done senior photos.

I've been so busy at school that photos have taken somewhat of a backseat. Things in the future: Finally going to do part 2 of A Fight With Darkness (we hit a snag when we went to do the shoot), uploading some more film, then shooting as much as I possibly can over my month long break for Christmas (I have some neat ideas).

This was a senior shot I did a few weeks ago. Some desaturation, clarity, and contrast adjustment made in Lightroom.

This is for the senior pic group. I am sorry for the poor quality. The original, color portrait is packed away until after our move. I tried but I could only get grainy shots from my yearbook. I was 17. I had auburn hair, was very shy and very silly. Now I am a blonde, still very shy and still silly!

As I posted the other day, I got a new lens (My new lens ♥♥) and am going to try my hand at portrait photography as a side gig (mostly senior portraits) .. Lucky for me my good friend's daughter is a senior, is beautiful, and is excited to help me practice my shots. It is nice to have a willing and cooperative subject (my boys just look at my with complete disinterest anymore, ha). I'll post a few from my shoot with her here in my yard over the next few days. I'm excited to go out with her and look for great new locations around town! So, you'll be seeing a LOT of Madeline in the next few months! Bear with me!

What a nice young man!

Had a blast doing these baseball senior pics!! More to come!

Thanks for the encouraging feedback Rachel, Wynona, Karen, and Dawn on that last upload. I haven't played in dark, rich tones in ages. This shot inspired a similar treatment.

The chevrons, perched eagle, and single downward-pointing star indicate the rank of a Senior Chief Petty Officer. The lyre between the rocker and the three downward pointing chevrons indicate the Musician rating (job speciality). The gold chevrons indicate twelve or more consecutive years of good conduct.

A sailor wears this rank on the left sleeve of their dress blue uniform. The second highest enlisted rank in the Navy, Senior Chiefs comprise roughly 2% of the enlisted workforce.

First time. kinda scary but its past now.

Meet Kate,

A senior to graduate this 2011...

she is a fearless Soccer defensive Sweeper and a stunning model..

here we have her do a glam pose to show off her outfit in some alley..

Kate pulled the pose off like a pro..

we had to search for a cool spot for this pose.. and what i was looking for was some rim lighting.. i didn't carry but just one light with me tonight, so the rim light was a must when it is pitch dark outside.. one light isn't really enough..

mother boomed the quadra system with the 39 Deep Octa..

i had the light on the lowest power i think.. the sky port is very nice to work with.. and also the modeling lights on the quadra was a saver! i didn't have my speed lights on to auto focus and this modeling lamp worked like a charm..

i always forget that this lighting system has the modeling feature ! Duh!..

This is not my son....but he might as well be. I held him as a tiny newborn and he has been friends with my son for 18 years. I had the privilege of doing his senior pictures. ♥
