Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence.

Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance.

Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence.

Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.”

Tower of the church of St. Francisco Convent, Tomar. Portugal

It was in 1625 that began the work of this convent, and the tower completed in 1660. It is located in the Lowland and along the ancient Great quarter of the 15th Infantry Regiment.

Because of this convent there was dispute between the Order of Christ and the Chamber. The verdict was in favor of this House and sent to erect a standard to celebrate this fact (the center of the standard Large Lowland).

The Franciscans lived in Santa Cita, a small town on the outskirts of Tomar. Tomar also had a small house where their patients recovered. It was, however, their desire move to take.

Thus, on July 17, 1562, the Principal of the Order received royal permission to do so and the House gave the land for the construction of the convent in Varzea Grande.

But the Cardinal Henry, who was at the time, Master of the Order of Christ, opposed, arguing that the property was Floodplains of the Order.

The Chamber was not satisfied and took the matter to court.

The demand dragged on and only on 15 May 1624, Philip III decided in favor of the House.

In view of this, the Franciscans were then allowed to build their convent on the site where, still exists today. As a condition was imposed on them the obligation not to leave the old convent of Santa Cita.

Who is Sa. Cita:

On the outskirts of Taking in the middle of Century II, lived on a farm, and Cassia Caio Attila, who had a servant girl named Zita or Cita. This was very beautiful and devout.

During a persecution by emissaries, sent Sellium - the name the Romans gave to the existing village on the banks of the river that gave rise to Nabão Taking in the year 155, and cites Zita was taken to a hill overlooking the farm and suffered cruel martyrdom .

The Christians of the neighborhood gave him burial in that sacred place, where later a chapel was built around which formed the village of Santa Cita.

A hoar frost are ice crystals that can form at ground level or above it, they can form in the air, in crevasses, in the deepness of glaciers.....Air hoar frost is the frost you see forming on trees, branches or any object that is on top of the surface. This type of hoar frost can be magical when attached to objects. It will outline the finest twigs of a tree as well as the tree itself. This type of hoar frost is extremely fragile and is formed from ice crystals as all hoar frost is. The moisture level needs to be high and the temperature cold to form this type of frost.

Shot this on a front porch of an old abandoned house in Union County, NC. As I walked up to it, the swing was moving and although it was a wet and windy day, it sorta seemed a bit eerie to me nonetheless.

Another play in Picasa with a shot taken in my garden using my little DT1.8/50 lens. I aimed through the Lily of the Valley leaves and buds towards a lone red tulip.

Colour Efex Filters for the differing tones of individual larger images. Loving the result, I went back to Picasa to experiment with framing, making the collage above.

Resized and signed in Pe7 for upload.
