Apart from framing and signature in Paintshop this is SOOC but I am puzzled at the arcs of colour in the sky. Perhaps someone could explain that to me. In Lightroom, where which I use to I transfer from the camera, these arcs cannot be seen. I have not seen this in any of my other shots.

It was just floating there unattended. They shouldn't have left the keys in it. I think I'll take it for a spin...

These guys made it into the air at the Victoria Harbor Airport. We drove to Dallas after our Houston flight was cancelled. The bags have been unloaded in Heathrow, but we still are waiting on the ground in Texas. ;-} [

A quick capture as this floatplane zoomed over the ship as we sailed up Sydney harbour. The occupants must have had a fantastic view of 'us' as well.

Captured in late afternoon light.

Fleet of seaplanes in Vancouver Harbour. Flights to Victoria and other Vancouver Island Communities originate from the seaplane base in front of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre.

* The first full day in British Columbia and the weather was perfect bright azure skies , crisp light and dry. If we had known we would have enjoyed it all the more, we did not see another completely clear blue sky till the final day of the trip . I don’t want to exaggerate there were periods of brighter weather from time to time but nothing came close to matching this .

We walked miles in the morning round the impressive Stanley Park which is jewel in Vancouvers crown. In the afternoon we took a seaplane from Vancouver harbour to Salt Spring Island . The views from this twelve seater plane were incredible . This is a general view of part of West Vancouver and in the distance in I think Bowen Island . Its a busy area and there were all manner of boats on the water . In the centre of the photograph is a lighthouse, at the time I did not realise i had photographed it . Nor did I have the slightest idea that I would have a much close encounter with it the following day. much more of that in my next post .

i was a bit wary of being in a seaplane but I really enjoyed and it gave a feel for the complicated geography of the area. Vancouver really is blessed in its setting . Its hard to look down a street there and not see some type of water and the mountains can be seen everywhere

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

Harbour Air

Two seaplanes, side by side.

Curious onlookers stand outside their parked vehicles admiring the planes. One person is spotted capturing a photo on his ipad.

I was surprised with the size differences of these two planes.

Looks to be a Toyota Rav4 and a mid sized Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck parked along side. These vehicles make for an even greater true size perspective.

A floatplane (pontoon plane) is a type of seaplane, with one or more slender pontoons (floats) mounted under the fuselage to provide buoyancy and stability for landing on the water.

Will bring you to the island of your dream...
