Many people in Hamilton County, NY had apple tree orchards. Old apple trees can be found on nearly every property in Benson. Apples grow well in Upstate New York. New York is second only to Washington State in apple production with about 24 million bushels a year. This does not include the apples on trees like this grow here and there and that are harvested mainly by the deer population.
This pond belongs to Lapland Lake Resort. The year was 1984.
Standing in the middle of the railroad tracks covered in fall leaves provided a interesting perspective of the steel truss bridge as you look a little further down the tracks.
