Camping at Big Sur, California. On a hike down from the campsite there is a small rocky beach. When I I got there at 6:00 a.m someone had been there the night before and made some amazing rock statues.. here is one of them!
The massive rock walls of the Grand Canyon almost go back to the beginning of history.
Please take a look on black
Here is another shot of the golden rocks..
Different composition, a bit later in the evening... the light changed quite quickly here the rocks weren't lit that orange anymore.. but still a bit. I also used a bit longer shutter speed here..
Thank you all for your views, comments and faves!
The unique "rock garden" of Peggy's Cove is due to carving created by the migration of glaciers and the ocean tides.
One from my trip a few weeks back at Gullane when I caught a good sunset and another unexpected surprise..
Again double exposure blend to retain the detail in the cliff against the very bright skies.
Got a few more images from that night but reckon this was the best of the bunch.
In hindsight I should of wet the foreground rocks, but too late now.
Pseudo hdr from a single exposure.
Thank you so much for all your comments, favs, invites and your continuous support!

Long exposure just at sunset on a cloudy and warm day.
To find places like this and enjoy photographing them is like getting lost in a different world of serenity and calm.
These large rocks in the sea, known as "The Friars", create a totally magical atmosphere.

Finally these precious icy rocks appeared there by the sea after some very cold nights and after the sea had withdrawn a bit. I had been waiting for these like a child waits for Santa Claus. To me these icy pieces are one of the most beautiful phenomenons on this planet.

Canon 5DMkII | Carl Zeiss 21mm F/2.8 lens | ISO100 | 21mm | F/16 | 480 sec | Lee 0.6 ND hard grad & Lee Big Stopper. Decided to put the big one on and ended up with an 8 minute exposure. Only took a few shots that morning as a result of the long exposures.

Fluffy clouds over Pendle.
A wide dynamic range and contrast here. Many exposures used to produce what I hope is a balanced exposure. (NOT hdr)
Was able to set this long exposure up to capture the low light at the end of the sunset on the rocks of Pemaquid point that nicely frame the reflection of the lighthouse and clouds. Pretty nice conditions to have for what I wanted to capture here while on vacation.
it was breezy, so the very long exposure really established a nice crisp reflection there in the water.
I couldn't decide whether to call this one 'Rocks' or 'ND4 wide angle Vertorama"... Went with Rocks in the end :)

Located by the village of Port Knockie on the Moray coast. Many a photo taken of this feature, however it has so many different looks depending on the tides, weather and time of day.
If you zoom in you can see it's covered with sea gulls, hence the numerous white patches on the rock!
The wonderfulk rock formations around Widdop Reservoir , a favourite with sheep and climbers alike .The famous Camel Head can be seen to the right ,
Widdop means `wide valley ` and is enclosed by rocky crags . It sits on the top of the Pennines very close to the Lancashire border .
I had been talking to the very talented photographer Craig McCormick via Twitter and Facebook as we are both members of KelbyOne.
Even though we had never met he invited me up to his stunning home in Scotland and we visited quite a few locations. One of which was Bowfiddle Rock. After a couple of hours of trying to find a good composition, the tide came in and gave me exactly what I had wanted.
Located in South Western Western Australia, this rock is a photographers dream and I was lucky enough to catch it in some great afternoon light and cloud
i have finally started to explore some of the iconic West Australian landscapes and during a recent visit to the South West region i spent a little bit of time at the Sugarloaf Rock near Cape Naturaliste...
a cloudy day allowed me to shoot a long exposure and i was looking to capture the detail of the rock, as well as, to let some of the colours in the water come through the choppy sea...
thank you for your continuous support during 2014 and for your comments and visits... this will be the last post for this year and i wish you all a very happy and safe Festive Season and all the best for the New Year...
