Thanks for all the faves and comments, even for just taking the time to view my photo's, much appreciated.

If I give faves, then most of the time they are not given in a "blink of an eye", I like to look at details to see how much they enriched a photo and how they draw my attention, to everyone "keep up the great/nice/good-looking/wonderful work of photography".

The most beautiful journey in the world!

The Atlantic Road takes you from lush coastal landscapes and heaths to bare rocks along the exposed Hustadvika, where you can see the sun sink into the horizon. This National Tourist Route has been called the world’s most beautiful drive and has been voted the “Norwegian construction of the century”.

The Atlantic Road connects the island of Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges over 8,274 meters. The road was opened in 1989 and is toll free.

The Atlantic Road has National Tourist Route status, and the entire stretch between Bud and Kristiansund is one continuous experience packed with coastal scenery, culture and history.

The contrasts between a trip on a sunny and tranquil summer day compared to a foam-sprayed journey in a storm from the northwest are huge. But whether the ocean is flat calm or cascading over the road, the Atlantic Road experience will give you memories for life.

We had a good time, but it wasn't the same craic not being able to share a wee dram or 2 with the friends we've made in the Highlands over the last 15 years...

Hey there Friends. Sorry I have been MIA for the last week or so. I took off on a 5 day 3000 mile solo road trip through Oregon, Washington and across all of British Columbia... This trip was more about the drive and clearing the mind and soul than it was about photography. Yes, I did take the camera along and was quite impressed with the fall color they have up there...

Grab a map and follow along as I retrace my route for those who are interested.

Portland Oregon over to La Grande. La Grande up 82 to Wallowa Lake, Enterprise and Hells Canyon. Enterprise up hwy 3 to Flora and Troy Oregon and from Troy onto Asotin, WA via Hwy 129.

Asotin to Clarkston, WA over to Palouse Falls. Palouse Falls over to Wastucna. Hyw 26 east to Colfax then Hwy 195 north to Spokane. From Spokane North on hwy 2 up to Bonners Ferry and finally crossing into Canada in Porthill. Creston, BC North on 3/95 up to Cranbrook and then onto Golden. Golden, BC east on 1 over into Alberta and Banff going through Yoho National Park. Back to Golden and west on 1 through Glacier National Park to Revelstoke. Revelstoke is where I finally grabbed a hotel and steak and martinis. From Revelstoke down to Kelowna. 97c west over to Merritt then hwy 8 onto Spences Bridge. From Spences Bridge north on 97 up to 100 mile house, then back down 97 to Marble Canyon. Marble Canyon on 99 south down to Lillooet then Mount Currie and Whistler. Finally going through Vancouver BC and back into the USA via the Peace Arch...

It was truly an amazing trip and I was so fortunate to see the scenery I did...I am already planning another trip up there for this winter!....

I will be doing my best to get caught up with everyone this week.....it's good to be back!

Cheers!

Hey there Flickr Friends......Sorry I have not been around too much lately. Just caught up with life and getting ready for the holidays. I wanted to share this image with you. Sunday I took my daughter for a little road trip out to Eastern Oregon into some more remote areas and we happened to come across all this frozen frost on the trees....I can't remember ever seeing anything like this before and it was absolutely breathtaking. Hope you are all having a wonderful Holiday Season.....

Algonquin Park, Ontario

So the plan this weekend was to stay at home, take it easy, and process some photos.

Ya, right. Road Trip!

Ended up deciding to camp in Algonquin Park this weekend. What a fantastic time! The second day brought heavy fog in the morning which made sunrise shots like this possible.

More to come and thanks for looking!
