This is a School Building one my colleagues at Autodesk put together using Revit Architecture.

 

We then re-used the data in Autodesk Inventor to develop the required mechanical\manufacturing products.

A water treatmet skid for a large retail outlet designed using Autodesk Inventor and shared with Autodesk Revit to use within the Building Information Model

I was recently asked a question about sharing data via Autodesk Inventors BIM Exchange tool. The question was about material consistency from one to the other.

 

These two screenshots show the model in Inventor with textures and colours and the same thing in Revit when opening the .adsk file into Revit.

 

As you can see, they both have the same colours and textures applied!

Michael Holmes – Michael is enrolled in Engineering Technology. His skills include AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, Inventor 2015, and Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. Comments made by Michael’s teachers include “Outstanding student, always trying to do his best, willing to help others, and will make a great Engineer in the near future,” “In the years that I have known Mike he has always shown himself to be thoughtful and hard working,” and “Mike is an exceptional young man and is an excellent example to the students at our school. Mike would make a perfect addition to your organization.” Michael was awarded The University of Akron Future Engineer Award in 2014. School related activities and honors include being a member of the National Honor Society, being a Three-year Renaissance Member, a Four-year Member of the Football Team, a Four-year Letterman for the Wrestling Team, and a Member of Haromano. Community service includes making crafts with patients at Pebble Creek Nursing Home, tutoring peers at study tables and wrapping gifts for the community at Springfield Community Center. Work experience includes working at Akron Gear and Engineering; babysitting his younger sister, who has special needs, and his younger brother. Recently, Michael began an internship with the TGC Engineering firm. Michael plans to graduate High School with Honors and attend The University of Akron as a full time Mechanical Engineering student.

I designed this bedroom for my Residential Design Studio at Iowa State. It was created using the AutoDesk Revit Architecture program. I also used Revit to all of the furniture and accessories in the room, except for the chair which was imported from Google Sketchup.

Some clean up in Illustrator was done for the drawings but only minimal and some photoshop was done to incorporate the people. The location was in Venice, Ca and the parameters were to design a duplex solely in the Revit Architecture program.

For the Ekris BMW showroom in the Leidsche Rijn neighborhood of Utrecht, the Netherlands, ONL drew aesthetic inspiration from BMW automobiles. The curved glass facade reflects the headlight styling on some of the latest BMW cars. ONL uses BIM to create stylized architecture based on automotive design and the priciple of mass customization. All individual glass and steel elements in the building are similar, but not identical in form, shape, or dimension. The company has also developed its own digital design-to-fabrication process to manage complex geometry and engineering of curved surfaces, support construction, and minimize costs.

Cannon Design used building information modeling (BIM) to design and analyze the Ordos Music Hall complex located in the new city of Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. Inspired by the traditional "dance of the long sleeves", in which dancers wearing floor-length sleeves perform elegant, sweeping movements, the design team led by the firm's Yazdani Studio, used circular shapes and patterns to create a complex of interwoven performance spaces.

 

The complex includes a 1,200-seat concert hall, a 400-seat multi-purpose theater, and a special 100-seat theater environment to accommodate traditional Mongolian music performance.

 

Intended to attract high-profile orchestras and performers from around the world, the building's unique configuration makes a direct connection to traditional Mongolian culture and forms. Using BIM and design visualization, the Cannon Design team realized their vision through the virtual integration of it's team members working together across their offices in North America and China.

The project is comprised of two buildings that share a site at a proposed Lake Vermillion State Park in northeastern Minnesota. The park was planned to be created, but funding fell through and the current land owner decided not to sell the land to the Minnesota DNR.

 

The larger (east) building is the Visitor Center for the State Park. The smaller (west) building is a Geology and Forestry Research Center that would bring together the Minnesota DNR, USGS, the US Forest Service, the University of Minnesota.

 

All images were created using a combination of Revit Architecture 2009 renderings and a Adobe Photoshop CS4.

American Gothic

 

Raven's Halloween Haven IX

Updated design for the 'learning centre' part of my scheme. Drawn and rendered in Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011.

290 Mulberry is a 13-story residential condominium in the Nolita neighborhood of New York City. Zoning and building code laws dictated that the building's facade be predominantly masonary to fit in with neighboring structures. SHoP came up with an innovative design involving panels of bricks extruding in wave-like patterns, giving the elegant building a funky, undulating look. Facing complex geometries and other modern complications, the company used the building information modeling BIM) capabilities of Revit Architecture software, facilitating construction by breaking the wall into component sections fabricated individually and assembled on-site. Detailed contexual rendering ensured that the new building complemented the surrounding neighborhood while achieving a distinctive look.
