An Autostitch panorama taken from the corner of Peel and the Dorchester Square (Dominion Square) access road between Peel and Metcalfe in downtown Montreal.
Aside from the scrambled sign in the foreground (and I tried tweaking it by trying to isolate which source photo was causing the problem, with no luck), I think this panorama turned out quite well.
Built from 2001 to 2003, this was the last major building complex to be built in Montreal before I moved to Ottawa in December 2004.
Here it is when it was just a hole in the ground in January 2002.
2009 Montreal Carifiesta (Jump Up) which took place on July 4th this year. The party went on despite the on and off rain, heavy winds and the split in the organizing committees! The later was more evident as a split in organization also played out with the parade! There also seemed to be less floats than in previous years, but the "band played on"!
Previous years;
Taken in January 2002, when the foundations had been laid, but construction had been temporarily halted, presumably for the Christmas holidays.
Cathedral-Basilica of Mary, Queen of the World; built 1870 – 1894. This is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal. The church is a scaled down version of St. Peter’s Basilica. It is the third largest church in Quebec after St. Joseph's Oratory (also in Montreal) and the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré east of Quebec City.

A local merchant sold flags of all the Caribbean countries including the USA. It felt like an incredibly multicultural international day.
