(Technically, it's now called just Le 1250 Boulevard Rene-Levesque) Montreal's second-tallest skyscraper at 199 metres (653 feet), and, while it's not an exact copy, it's the younger sister building of a skyscraper in Frankfurt called the Kronenhochhaus (a.k.a. the Westendstraße), to which it shares a LOT of architectural similarities, since both buildings were designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates at about the same time.
In the foreground, at the corner of Peel and de la Gauchetiere, is Saint George's Anglican church.
2009 Montreal Carifiesta (Jump Up) which took place on July 4th this year. The party went on despite the on and off rain, heavy winds and the split in the organizing committees! The later was more evident as a split in organization also played out with the parade! There also seemed to be less floats than in previous years, but the "band played on"!

A sign warning of guard dogs at construction the site where Montreal's La Cité du commerce électronique (E-Commerce Place) now stands.
I don't actually recall seeing any dogs on the very cold day in January 2002 that this photo was taken. It could be that they sleep in daytime. Or the dogs just wanted to stay warm inside their sheds.

Photo, en plongée, à travers une vitre, d'une colonne Astral située sur le boulevard René-Lévesque Est. C'est ce qui explique la multiplication des lumières néon.

A picture, taken through a window, from above, of an Astral column (an advertising piece of street furniture) located on René-Lévesque Blvd. East. That's why the neon light is multiplied.
Untreated picture.
La Cité du commerce électronique/E-Commerce Plaza and le 1250 Boulevard René-Lévesque (the former IBM-Marathon) building as seen from a Greyhound bus just about to enter the tunnel under downtown Montreal on the Ville-Marie Expressway.
On Monday, I went on a quick day trip to Montreal in order to purchase a certain item that I just couldn't find in Ottawa (hint: it's red, 1/18 scale, and from Mattel), but, while I was there, I took some photos, obviously. Otherwise, it would have been quite a waste to have spent almost $60 on bus tickets when I could just have ordered it off the Internet.
"Le 1250" is my most-photographed Montreal skyscraper, but this is pretty much the only shot I took of it on Monday. I only had a few hours in Montreal and didn't want to waste time taking yet more pictures of the same five or six skyscrapers I usually photograph when I'm in town.

Behind is the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth (commonly called The Queen Elizabeth Hotel; French: Le Reine Elizabeth).
The hotel reached worldwide fame when John Lennon and Yoko Ono conducted their Bed-In and recorded the song Give Peace a Chance in Room 1742 at the hotel, between May 26 and June 2, 1969.

Going home after a long day at work, I caught these people climbing on the bus.
I worked hard on this one. Let me know if it was worth it.

You can see the Sun Life Building, part of Place Ville Marie and the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, and, if you look carefully at the far left of the picture, Tour Scotia (Scotiabank Tower).

Jean Poirier, candidate for the Parti Québécois in Mercier, with a portrait of former Québec Premier René Lévesque by artist Marie-Josée Hudon.
This rather creepy scene was found in an alley rather close to Blvd René-Levesque. I don't quite want to know what happened there...
