Apr 29 2017 - With the city's 375th anniversary this year the Ville de Montréal is upgrading as much of the city as it can before the summer tourist season.. the illumination of the Jacques Cartier bridge, a walkway from Old Montreal to Mont Royal.. less road construction.. and mundane things like this, laying pipings and cables and generally updating a lot of old infrastructure long over due for renewal
Night view from the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth (commonly called The Queen Elizabeth Hotel; French: Le Reine Elizabeth).
...which is now called the "Bell Centre", but, at the time I took the photo which I used as a backdrop, back in January 2002, it was still the Molson Centre.
The car, is, of course, a Maisto 1/24th scale model, with a commemorative NHL paint job by Top Dog Collectables.
2009 Montreal Carifiesta (Jump Up) which took place on July 4th this year. The party went on despite the on and off rain, heavy winds and the split in the organizing commitees! The later was more evident as a split in organization also played out with the parade! There also seemed to be less floats than in previous years, but the "band played on"!
Previous years;
Sun Life Building; Height: 400 feet; Floors: 24; Built 1913 – 31; Darling & Pearson, architects. When it was built, the Sun Life Building was the largest building in square footage anywhere in the British Empire.

This is yet another Autostitch shot of my favourite Montreal skyscraper to photograph, Le 1250 René-Lévesque, formerly the IBM-Marathon Building, assembled using photos taken next to le 1100 Rene-Levesque, across Stanley Street.
The curving "east" facade is completely different from the "west" facade, which features several overlapping rectangular portion.
I am fully aware that this building hasn't been the IBM-Marathon Building in years, but I think it's a travesty that the two tallest skyscrapers in Montreal, this one and le 1000 de la Gauchetière, don't have formal names, just their addresses.
The observation deck atop 1 Place Ville Marie offers a nice view of Downtown Montreal and other nearby neighborhoods.

À mon avis, c'est la plus belle vue disponible/probablement abordable à Montréal. Le 2250 est affreux mais il est haut...
