Even in the darkness, every color can be found. And every day of rain brings water flowing to things growing in the ground.

Having opened into this jaw dropping formation they plunge toward the drop zone and amaze the crowds with the formation and the speed of the final drop. The use of the 300mm here has I hope caught the awesome drama of this final plunge before they split three ways (see next image Red IV The Crossover) to land in the centre of the arena to deafening and well deserved applause.

Tiny red leaf all alone on the boardwalk handrail. But by being all alone, it was the star of the moment, and its beautiful red color stood out even more than had there been other leaves around it.
There are some images that when i post it feels like i'm throwing down a Royal Flush in a poker game...you cant wait for everyone else at the table to see it :) It's like Kaboom! I love this one :)
Photography is like gambling to me... I miss a shot... wait for a shot... think I get a shot but the lighting is off or the detail isnt there... THEN, it happens... A GREAT shot! It makes it all worth it... and I start all over again :) It's addicting ;)

have a great weekend my friends! will catch you later!
Went for a drive a couple days ago to check on how the leaves are turning and took this close-up shot of a sumac bush, glowing red as pretty as any flower. Here in the Ozarks (and probably other places as well), sumac is one of the first plants to turn red. Sumac is a woody shrub that has roots that grow nearly straight horizontally just under the ground, which makes them ideal for local craftsmen to use to make walking canes. They are commonly found on rural roads, and have berries/seeds that songbirds feast on in winter.
