"Softly the land rolls" The ocean looks calm, the light even, the land soft as velvet, so it appears, so it is not, when you face it in person.

I know the image may not be the best quality (it's a major crop that is obviously unrealistic in color, contrast, etc.), but it is a good overview of Easter Island as a whole... from a certain perspective.

This shot doesn't has any post production, I only used the lens of my sunglasses like a filter and this is the result... and i love it!

Colossais.

Olhos que olham para o céu.

Mata Ki Te Rangi.

Eyes that look into the sky.

Tocar formas suaves y ondulantes

This small album summarises my first two days on Rapa Nui in February this year. On day 1, I walked off in one direction and on day 2, I walked in the other. Can there be anything so magical as walking by yourself knowing you're on just about the safest island in the world? And it's gorgeous!

It is one of the most isolated islands in the world but 1200 years ago a double-hulled canoe filled with seafarers from a distant culture landed upon its shores. Over the centuries that followed a remarkable society developed in isolation on the island. For reasons still unknown they began carving giant statues out of volcanic rock. These monuments, known, as "moai" are some of the most incredible ancient relics ever discovered. The people of Easter Island called themselves the Rapa Nui. Where did they come from and why did they disappear? Science has learned much about the enigma of Easter Island and has put to rest some of the more bizarre theories, but questions and controversies remain. Go and Explore this site to get your own conclusions of the island's history.

Rapanui, better known as The Shag Rock or simply "Shag Rock" was a notable sea stack which stood at the entrance of the Avon Heathcote Estuary near Christchurch, New Zealand.

Ritual platform Ahu Tahai, located near the village of Hanga Roa is one of the best places to watch the sunsets on Rapa Nui. Every evening, if the weather allows, both numerous tourists and residents of Hanga Roa come here to admire the spectacular natural performance.
